    Bumper number etiquete

Just to throw my 2cents in, i dont see any problems with using your old unit numbers, or even fictitious numbers if you want...its your truck. I am planning on using my old gun numbers off the HMMWV i rode around on in Iraq on my Deuce when its close enough to be called a Gun. 524 CSB 66-109

    Air Compressor missing pieces, internally

i may just be blowing smoke here...lol...but if you found a bunch of small sharp fragments, could it be possible that these missing parts may haven been floating around in there for so long that they have been ground into nothing? i have no idea where the journals go from the compressor but id...

    Got it HOME!!!....Pictures

I have a 67 KJC as well..although mine is a 109A3. I was looking at your front end there, and i notice that your headlights are closer to the top and above the blackout light. That configuration seems to be very common. Mine however, the headlights are closer to the bumper and the blackout light...

Transmission problem.... Well, i pulled the Deuce up into my garage this morning and yanked the passenger seat, and transmission floor covers. Im doing this because i need to change my throw out bearing and probably the clutch disk and pressure plate. As i pulled the covers, I noticed that the...

    Transmission // Clutch slip

Great idea.... I was reading my -20 this morning on Tranny removal and there was a fig. that showed a small A-frame winch used to lower the tranny to the ground. It rested on the floor of the cab with the seats and floor panels removed. GENIOUS! i think im gonna build one and ill post...

    Transmission // Clutch slip

...i found this thread very informative. Last weekend, after putting the new bed on, i took it for a spin. The clutch slipped coming up an incline to the main road from a stop. I took the inspection cover off and the zerk for the throw out fell out. I put that back in and hit it with a...

    Gun Truck Radio Call Signs

HAHA the leaning sh*thouse....i think that was the 18th Corps support brigade but i could be mistaken. When were you there? What FOB were you on? My 2nd tour was Aug 06 thru Nov 07 at Q-West. I was in first platoon of the 66th, 1st squad known as LOTT's Lizards... a lil play on words "lot...

    Gun Truck Radio Call Signs

Im not sure about past crews' call signs, but when I was in Iraq as a gunner, i was assigned to the 66th Trans Co . We were attached to the 524th Combat Support Battalion. I have no idea who they were really or where they were from because we were just thrown in with a grab bag of units. The...

    Vietnam Era Guntruck!

Well this was the original plan...but there doesnt seem to be much call for 109 boxes out here on the westside. At least none that ive seen...and i doubt anyone would want to travel a long way for a less then perfect box. I emailed 100dollarman because hes nearby to see if he has a bed and maybe...

    Vietnam Era Guntruck!

So i was thinking today and i wanted to run this by the board and see what people thought of it. Since i have a 109 and cant quite afford to go buy a bed, i was thinking of shearing the top of the box off and using the sides as a base to weld some armor plates...hide the box with armor using...

    m35a3 gun truck

lol...id agree in the fact that i know when i was gunnin, my crew loved to get all up in the business at hand, but when i was up top, i loved my turret armor and gun shields. we can say, Guntruckers dont hide! but they sometimes do take cover ;)
