Well various avenues...
the T-55AM2 and the BPzV was purchased from Select Military Vehicles in the UK. They come out of Peter Boyes collection... I flew to see them.
the T-54 was bought through a contact out of the UK from a man who flew to CZ to pick one out after the wall fell. Only saw...
Been looking for a HET, but some of the prices have been a little nuts... not to mention locations. I have a hard time spending lots of money on wheeled vehicles! LOL
Well after buying a Chieftain last Spring in the UK, having it demilled to US standards and repainted (for some reason a 7 month process), having her ship from Liverpool to arrive in Baltimore (missing the ship 2x), then the REAL fun began...
She landed Jan. 2, and was cleared by Customs Jan...
Update on the travails of armor moving...
My Chieftain was "impounded" on the New Hampshire / PA border on Friday afternoon... Monday to sort out the details. Permits are having to be reissued.... and now my armor is sitting on the side of the road over the weekend.... tanks are fun... tanks...
Hey... I feel for your friend!
We just had our Chieftain moved from Baltimore to Indiana... $15,500 for the move. It also is 62 tons... and roughly the same dimensions. Did you friend buy a Chieftain?
This tank at those dimensions is super weight, and over wide. It triggers literally every...
Ok, I don't mess with massive tires as I don't want to inadvertently make my wife a widow! LOL
I had a tire on my M923A1 slow leaking, so I took it to a truck place that has experience.
They called me and said that the inner seal needs replaced. They only have access to much narrower seals...
Ok, I'll throw my hat into the ring...
Disclaimer first, I know nothing about M113s or M114s... they may have tracks, but I don't personally consider them armor... flame away...
Owning tracked vehicles is not for the faint of heart, but it is incredibly rewarding and there is simply nothing...
We tried to fill my bottles, and were told they had to be pressure tested. Then got a call about two weeks later saying they could not pressure test the short bottle as it did not have the industry acceptable markings.
Sorry, in this part of the country we've always called them splash guards... I've heard them called mud flaps, but splash guards are what most people around here would say...
Ok, yes mud flaps...
The ones that came on the truck are so short that when driving they curl in toward the tire and ride up onto the tire surface, rubbing the entire time. I need the ones in the picture.
Hey all,
Just picked up an M929A1 dump truck out of Indy, and it had really short splash guards installed, not the original long ones that can be rolled up.
Does anyone know where I can get a set of the long splash guards? Could also use the attaching hardware!
Thanks in Advance!
I never said it was not legal to sell your armored vehicle you imported...
It is however, VERY different if you are bringing multiple vehicles in, and listing them for sale... or selling them outright. And if you are making money from it, you must be registered as an importer.
The ATF will...
Hey all
Been through the TMs... can't find this.
My Mk48 has a small overheating problem I want to get fixed. My mechanic wants to know the RPM of the Mk48 Radiator cooling fan... anybody have this?
Thanks!
