It uses an unwieldy system with DUVAC's that is troublesome to say the least.
More trouble than its worth. I would just do a 12v conversion before I ever considered going that route.
Not really.
The 24v alternator sees the two batteries in series as one battery. So there is no way for it to charge one of them while the other one is left alone. You will either be overcharging the second battery, or always have the first one low.
Your issue when using it on a CUCV is that you have a 12v drain on the front battery to run your 12v componets. With the stock system since it charges each alternator on its own, thsi is not an issue. If you ran just a 24v altenrator this would cause issue as one battery would always see a drain...
There are 24v units in the same Delco case as the stock 12v units. Any parts store should be able to get them, I think NAPA lists them under agricultural units.

7A
9/57 OD B-XX
XX is the indivdiual trcuk number. Once again these vary, but 6 is almost always the commander, 7 the 1SG, 5 ops, and usually platoons were Broken down like 1X for 1st platoon, 2x for second...
Not a glow plug issue. Sounds more like your coled advance solenoid in the IP isn't working, either because it is shot or the wiring too it got messed up.
If your truck seems to be running fine, don't mess with it.
90% of the time when someone says they had to adjust their timing as a fix, that is a clue that the IP is starting to go, and advancing the timing is just a mask for it.
I have-
Dummy (stage prop) M1 Garands, Carbines, and Thompsons available.
I may have some WWII Camo net. That stuff is hard to get. I definitly have the burlap scrim for the nets on rolls if you want to make your own (much cheaper!)
I have enough WWII personal gear and uniforms to fill the...
