There must be a load of money to be made in landscaping, if one can afford to haul a lawnmower around in a 5 ton. With 6MPG and the amount of PMCS these vehicles need. Not to mention the unexpected things to break or suddenly not work. That notion just baffles me.
One has to have either deep...
Yeah those pricks with their offroad junk LEDs and lightbars. Lightbars are illegal to be on on the road and totally useless.
i rather spend money to make the truck run reliably. Stock lights are good enough and cost $10 each
I was going through the electrical stuff as part of my PMCS. And found out that the horn would not work, but do something as i could hear a clicking sound from the fusebox area.
Found out the wire to the horn was clipped and missing just after the filter cap. So i soldered a new wire on after...
Great advice Rus. Ill look at it next.
I remember times when CO's would only ride in cutvees not in HMMWV, in accordance of the need of a cushy ride. That didnt confront me, as they still made me walk back then, like some dirty animal.
do you have the dimensions of this starter? I can tell you then if it would fit or not. I for one would be interested in a gear reduction starter. With the contingency that the planetary gear are of good quality and will last longer than the universe.
I an very detail oriented with the things I do, I wouldn't mind doing it myself, but I know that I am going to turn this into a huge mission creep.
And Merry Christmas
Yes, I had to cut the tabs a bit. When you said you have 13G, i thought I bought the wrong ones. Reading posts like that one from veteran CUCV owners makes me question myself.
Oh and Merry Christmas
there is a gear reduction starter for the LMTV?
Edit I see there is a 12v and a 24v starter that fits on the 3116, but two questions
a) will it fit behind the frame?
b) does it have the right teeth count?
I bought this sucker a year ago from a Sheriffs dept. in North Carolina, They kind of failed to describe how the floors look and I payed quite a bunch for this truck. Yes, the floor boards were an upgrade courtesy of that Sheriffs dept.
So since It's my truck I can't really walk away from it...
is that normal? I never noticed this on a CUCV before. It looks like the axle is further back on the driver side? not sure how that could be with the swaybar installed
driver side
passenger side
Well, Pretty much everything toward the edge is rusted. Rocker panel, Floor, supports, kick panel. The best would be to just take the entire shell and replace it. But it is still cheaper to fix what is there.
The cab floors and cab supports on the passenger side of my m1009 are holier than anyone would appreciate. Is there a preferred place to buy replacement panels?
I came across places like LMC truck and now that I have sorted out most of the PMCS and things that were wrong, it's time to look into...
