I don't have the CTIS on my M35A2, but the unit that my truck came from did reverse the Hubs and install 11.00R20 Firestone M&S tires as singles on it.
I do like the big heavy lugged tread the tires show, and the singles at least for me, make driving around town a lot more pleasant. The rears...
You might consider then a Canadian 1/4 Ton trailer. I have the M101 CDN2; It is a 1992 built version of the M416, with many added improvements.
The M101, is in fact a Unibody design where the tub and chasis are one. The M416 was a bolted on body to a chasis. The only bolted pieces on the M101...

Can someone add to the Brake Bleeding and list a step by step process to complete it?
I along with a friend changed out all the brake hoses. Two front wheel, one front axle, and two rear axle. Now I need to top off the Master Cylndr, and bleed. What wheel do I start with and is there a specific...
I am replacing my hoses and temp. sending unit this weekend. Obviously, I will need to refill the coolant.
Does anyone know if Dex Cool, can be used? Is there a benefit over Regular coolant?
Will GM's Dex Cool make the motor run poorly or better?
That's an M101 CDN2 1/4 ton, and those reflectors are real tough to come by. The trailers were only made for a few years, and when the contract was cancelled, that was it for the parts.
Welcome! When I started, a few years ago, I had bought an M101 CDN2 1/4 Ton trailer, that I restored to new. Not that it needed much work as most were unissued as I'm sure you already knew, but what a good looking trailer. Now my most recent addition is the M35A2, and that is progressing nicely...
Just don't get stopped at a DOT Scale and get caught with the at red died HHO, in that tank. You will be in for a very rude awakening. You'll be fined more money than the truck is worth.
I got a nice e-mail this morning from Jim Wagner at Mil Batteries. I want to share it, for folks wanting to purchase new batteries as I do. I think it is very informative and gives you a nice platform to start with...
" The Red Top is a pure engine starting battery. The Yellow Top is a combo...
This is why it is important to get a hold on what is available now. M35's are being released like the WWII vehicles were in the 50's.
These will proboably be the last Military Vehicles to go out to the public. I don't have room for one, but bought it anyway. Just a good investment. And for the...
Those pics really made the thread!
So is the Military using the Hawker type or Optima type batteries? It seems from what I'm reading that both are employed.
The Hawker look real heavy duty, where the Optimas look kind of light. However, if the Cranking Amps from the Optimas are good, I suppose...
That is an awsome fabricatrion!
I will need to configure a lower receiver mount as well, since the 1/4 ton trailer I have levels at about 20".
I can't do that ind of work, and if I didn't know better, I would've guessed that yours was made using special factory tooling.
I'm just getting started and was told that a once a year full filter and oil change will keep everything in fine working order.
I also picked up, at the advise of a Club memeber, the Oil filter spin on adapter kit from JA Tonka to reduce the wear that is associated with the cartridge filters and...
I too, would like to read the decode formula. I am just getting into the M35, and just purchased one. I want to learn everything I can to better my understanding of this platform.
On the Firestone tube-type 1100R20 tires that are on my M35,the tire has a pressure of 120 PSI, molded into the rubber. These are 8 ply tires. I think the Michelins are the same.
I looked up the optima battery website, http://www.milbatteries.com/index.html
I see what you guys were talking about.
Do the batteries lock into the tray, or is there some kind of a cover that secures them in the tray?
So I can buy the plastic adapter that raises the two Optima Sealed...
That's just the tray.
My truck has a new battery box bracket installed, and the new style plastic battery box. I'm fine with both sincethey were installed before the truck was surplused.
I just need a good pair of maintenance free batts to go in there. Since I'm newto the deuce, I am learning...
I need new batteries!
What brand, and part numbers do I need?
Also is there a sealed Gel cell that is maintenence free, so I can hook 'em up and not worry about them again until I need to replace?
Thanks for the info. I was told by some folks that the Id number on the tag should be broken up into two parts.
1st part is 04 L .....
which is supposed to be the vehicles military lic. plate number, the second part is the last 9 digits and is supposed to be the 9 that I give to the DMV.
I...
