Is the vent propperly working?
If not, you have no change to get the trans dry. Get the vent in propper order.
Are the flanges ok, do the seals run on a good surface?
If you answer all questions with yes, your problem should not exist any more.
This applies not for the...
Voltmeter readouts are not the ultimate information.
If your altinators are over13 Volts each they are still ok. A total reading of over 28 Volts with an indendent Voltmeter is also ok.
15 years with a M1009.

Hey, to find out the harness refer to TM 9-2330-251-14.
For your 4 pin connector I advice you to change at least to a 7 pin connector to conform with some world wide standards and for your own safety.
After that changing to 12 V bulbes should be the easiest, but why, the the FJ Cruiser in Europe...
Bridge weight plates are classified according a big lot of manuales all over the world in any Army.
Basicaly the say the vehicle gross weight in tons rounded to the next highter value, if a road load of maximum of 5 tons per meter or 4513 lbs per feet are not exceeded. If the vehicle tows a...
Is it automatic or manual.
The Air Force had several of these with MT and maintainance body, at least here in Germany. I drove at least 2 of them, one with standard bed, one with maintaiance body due to my job in the early 90's, both with MT.

This guy can be helped, however, it needs work:
The fused linkages need to be replaced, as read, blown.
The starter is a peace of scrap, for is causes a lot of problems. Change to the new model.
To do all this you need the related harness diagrams and... you have to understand them.
If not, pray...
You said your total stopping distance was about 100 feet. That with a speed of 35 mph (considered to be correct) makes a mean deceleratin of 40%, which is not so good. If I consider a reaktion time of 20 feet, your mean braking performance is at 51 %. This is just at the minimun required leagal...
For your "REO" you should use a 15W40 engine oil, non syntetic, API class CD or better (MIL L-2105-B or better). The problem is not so much the oil, the problem is based in the oil seals of the engines. The "old" engine seals are NOT designed for the syntetic oil, they will leak a lot. The seal...
Handle all the surfaces you grinded down to the bare metal with a good rost prohipeting primer, even painted by hand.
Before you paint the truck with olive drab (In Germany RAL 6022) grind over all surfaces and prime the truck. The dried out primer also sould be regrinded by hand and than give...
There are some possibilities: As I got my M1009 in 1992 it was declared to be a BUS, however, it seems to be more logical to call it a passenger car or a SUV or a light duty truck, which is ther closesed to the emmission label. Hope this helps.

For me it is reading like the little spring loaded balls are worn out. These little balls are made to keep the shifted position in a siutable locked position, however shiftable. Did you check these parts on yout T-case. It need a complete stripp to get the shift rods out of the t-case, so most...
As far as I read the post, at least nobody said that tracked vehicles ar a cheep hobby. Wheeld armour is a little easier to handle. However over a 100 inches width you will have problems on the road you never heared of. That is an other world of road use.
Tracked is something over it, as long...
If you ask the net, there are several dealers in Europe, especially in Britain and Germany where you can purchaise Ttracked vehicles, armoured or non armoured. It is just a matter of how many you like to spend.
A Ferret is avilable from 8000 Euro up. A Saracen from 10000 up, a Fox from 10000...
The Army dropped the original starter model due to never ending problems and poor reliability.
The new starte number is 6598N which comes with a testing certificate.
I installed that new starter model to my 6.2 l Diesel and so far it works well.

I once had to replace the horn on my former M1009. I bought a German standard horn and after installing it did not work. I cut out the capacitor which is installed in the harness just before the horn and... it was making the appropriate noise. May be US horns are designed a little bit different...
Price differences are based on the belt quality. Standard belts are a little cheeper but do their job fine. If you want longer life ( 80000 miles plus) you by the equall lenght quality which you need for example for generators with 2 or three belts to drive them.
These belts live longer but are...
If the tires are made according the requirements of tire and rim or ETRTO you have not to fear any real bad handling. Allmost anything is better than the Army tires in use until the late 80's / early 90's. If the inscription on the side walls is according on of the mentioned standards, they are...
