50WT is NOT available in Europe! Thats why I do not know it. I checked up the suppliers.
According the reference lists it is the same viscosity as a 90W transmission oil. So my information is correct, even if with the "wrong" name.

Dipl.-Ing.
Even not original, we in Germany have to reharness the vehicles according to the legal requirements of Germany / Europe. So we usually cut out the original stuff of that age and replace it completely, which is done by a car electrician within one day.

Look at your VIN. The G is rated for a 9000 lbs GVW brake, the H for a 10000 lbs GVW brake. It is the 4th didget of the VIN. This info can be asked at any Chevy or GM dealer if they are willing to help and have the required competence.
By the way, the rear brake is identical, even the automatic...
Anything less than 8 mpg is low fuel consumption, 9,3 mpg is a dream value. If you are to low in fuel consumption, you will run into cooling problems.
The carbs of that time are that poor in vaporizing the fuel that the engine heat is needed to vaporize the fuel completely for propper ignition...
Use any soap with tensides, for example dish soap or washing pouder. Make a fat solution of it and wash step by step and use a lot of time. Flush with a lot of water.
Cold cleaning slovents will also work, but the cleaning stuff is the same as in washing powder and therefore to expensive. If you...
OK, the body is telefon or some other maintainance, officially telefon maintainance. How is the upper frame rail between the cab and the box? It is a typical weak point. They rust away. If so, you bought a peace of scrap.
If not, you have a relatively reare peace of a M888.[thumbzup] We scraped...
It is a M6 metric nut. The bolt of the starter clamp in the block is a M8 x 20 metric. The two big one that hold the starten to the block are M12.
The 6.2 l Diesel is a full metric engine.

Do not put too muck torque in the truck, the transfer is not made for it and overheats, also the axles are not made of nowadays steel quality., so they suffer fro to much torque.
I use a 6.2 l diesel since 6 years now and had to reduce to oil changing interval of the transfer to 6000 miles...
Nope!
The 6.2 l Detroit Diesel has allways the same block, crankshaft, tie rods and pistons, whichever engine code it is.
J stands for heavy duty emmission of 1985, 1986 and 1987.
C is the low emission level for light duty trucks. Difference is the cam shaft and different valve size in the...
hobie237 is right, if your truck is over 120 000 miles. Electronics are of poor reliability. But pay attention, these plugs are SIX SECOND PLUGS, the buzzer is set to 6 to 7 seconds for in the electronic card there are some registors which limit the power to the glow plugs by a very little to...
M105 or M105A1!
The single air line is the yellow one and acts on a diaphragm air cylinder which actualtes a master cylinder. This hydraulic master calinder actuates the wheel cylinders and so the brakes. The system is simple, reliable and hopefully not overbraking (Most of the cases if your...
As far as I do remember, the base axle is the same. The difference is the wheel hubs and the brake between A1 and A2. A3 I can not say, we never had them in Europe. And I also have no manual of it and never saw one for a M101A3.
Here the new model trailers appered which were designed for the...
Hallo atankersdad,
As far as i know from the history books a M-2-4 was not involved in the RED BALL EXPRESS, beside I enyoy that you keep such a truck alive.
Of course I'm to young to having been a part of the original RED BALL EXPRESS. But I'm too long in the MV bussiness to be called boy. I...
To me it is unknown that someone ever made a 50W engine oil. I'm over 25 years in the car and truck bussiness.
So it might be a misreading or worn out printing of 90W which makes absolutely sence without checking the manuales in detail.
Anyway, depending of the year of manufacture of yout trans...
For original seats contact M715kaiserjeep.com of VINTAGEPOWERWAGON.com. They are located in Fairfield/IA and should be able to help you with original stuff.

As far as I remember, the RED BALL EXPRESS roads are in Europe. So how to have a RED BALL EXPRESS Meeting in the States? To my understanding it can only be a RED BALL EXPRESS MEMORIAL Meeting.
By the way, most of the raods of the RED BALL EXPRESS I drow ower the years in France and Luxembourg...
It is not the fan as you found out, not the gen 1, it is a bad shwich which makes a "light short". Replace it. It's a cheep Delphi part. Should be available at the GM or Chevy Dealer. It's a civilian part.
Wolf
I would NOT buy it. To much work to get it back to somewhat original.
The original axles will NOT live very long with that much torque of the 350 Chevy!
Wolf
Sheet parts are getting reare.
If vintagepower wagons or south eastern equipent are out of stock, you should make these parts by yourself.
If you find someting in the civilian line of the wagoneers you are lucky.
