Well it depends.. it if is Air over hydro there are OFF when there is no Air supplied. If it is full Air brakes the brakes are ON when there is no air supplied. Maybe a model number or a quick picture/TM search on Google will help you. Just sayin....
How long did you drive it? Sounds like the T stat just started to open when you stopped. IE: you did not drive it long enough. If it is not over heating and the gauge is stating 160-190 your fine.

Christ here we go.... I knew this was going to happen.......... I am not doing 100 MPH. I do 61. The truck its 100% top knoch. Can something happen? sure..... I can blow a rear end just like what happened in my T/A gong 45 MPH and wrecked it. **** happens guys.
ALl you old farts who want to go...
Well unlike some people here.. cough cough.. I went throu every nut bolt and seal on this truck. Did every single PM you can do on a deuce and replaced/rebuilt every part that looks or even hinted on needed replacing or rebuilding.

Master cylinder,
Air pack/booster,
low/out of fluid,
broken line, Hard or rubber
bad wheel cylinder,
Shoes way out of adjustment,
There is no one answer that is your fix all.
