I got the part # from this thread posted on this forum: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?114718-block-heater/page2
I have not verified the 8.3l part #. I have a 855 cid and that is the zerostart part # I installed in my personal truck, and yes it does wonders on a cold day.
Which motor do you have? Search for 855 cid cummins block heater on fleabay for an A1 truck, or cummins 8.3 block heater for an A2 truck. look at the top of this page for the google search function of this site only, that should narrow it down.
older non turbo cummins 855 cid: part #...
Purchased by me from www.surplusmilitarydepot.com in Lothian, MD and will be finding a new home in Wynnewood, OK 73098.
I have this out on Uship, but I have been reading a few of the reviews of the transporters, and it seems they tend to sublet some their freight out. Not too impressed...
When I bought our M923A1 my wife helped me pick it out. We looked at several, but kept going back to the one we bought. Between the wife and I, the truck was a compromise purchase. I wanted a jeep TJ, and she wanted a Polaris razr. I think we picked the right vehicle.
She could hardly...
I nominate my 1990 AM General M923A1 hauling hay to produce more beef which I hear makes great burgers. I was off at the time and had to try my new toy out on a friend's farm.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. We have a 1955 Chevy that looks identical to yours, but with slightly different hood and grille. Our was a military truck too; My father bought it in 1984 from a surplus dealer. Did not have a bed on it. We built a flat bed and used it on our farm to haul hay...
brake light pressure switch is on the inside of the frame, on the left side, just past the back of the transfer case. has two Packard connectors plugged into it.
Shark bait, would you mind giving details of the electrical intervehicular cable that is used to connect your lmtv to the m1082a1? I would like to know the length of the cable and if it has the same ends that are used on a m923a1 5 ton.
I am in the process of purchasing a m1082a1 and it...
Would you guys be kind enough to take a picture of the location of those check valves?
I found the pressure protection valve, bendix PR-2.
My truck is a 1990 m923a1. I am experiencing an overpressure condition much like SLOrazorsedge. The truck functioned perfectly until we had a our...
Cool pics. Welcome to the forum. That is pretty cold up there, and the wind chill makes it even worse.
To adjust your shifting, there is a cable hooked to your injection pump with your throttle cable/linkage. The end of the cable has a clevis, and shortening the cable raises trans...
block heater is the best way to go. I have them on my dump trucks, bulldozers, pickups, and my m923a1. a block heater will make a world of difference.
a trickle charger is also a good investment, works best for long term storage of vehicles or to keep the batteries topped off in the wintertime.
thanks for the advice renodogs. think I will just stick to the 70w/75w that came in the kit and add some off road lights when I get time. thinking about buying those ibis tech lightbars from one of the members here.
Mine downshifts and compression brakes exactly as you described quickfarms. Maintaining proper stopping distance is crucial in these trucks, and it depends on the weather and traffic conditions also. I have a class a cdl and own 2 dump trucks, and am very familiar with the use of compression...
I recently installed "those military guys" halogen upgrade kit in my m923a1. came with autopal lenses, and 70 low beam/ 75 watt high beam bulbs. works great and is worth the $55.
I am wondering if anyone has tried a pair of Phillips 90w low/ 100w high halogen bulbs in a m900 series truck...
