Hello, I know this is an old thread. But I see it mentioned that this pump has 3/8” inlet and outlet. Is that the hose size that fits the included hose barb? Or is it the threaded port size that is 3/8” npt?
The one I received has 1/4” npt inlet/outlet ports and not 3/8”.
Tonight I checked the fuel lines. No pinched line. I disconnected the booster pump inlet. I turned on power and flushed 2gals through. I then disconnected the inlet to the HH and again flushed roughly 4gals.
I hooked everything up, had my wife hit the start button while I used the ether. I kept...
Depends how often you use it. Most people remove/bypass those. Like you found out, they leak, and when they do it’s onto the turbo exhaust housing, causing a fire.
I have had both the overflow valve, and the over pressure valve apart. Since it’s easy, and possible that something has dislodged from the nasty lines. I will disassemble and clean.
I did replace the rubber line inside the fuel tank so I know that’s good.
I’ll order and replace the rubber line/s since they’re fairly cheap and easy.
I might have time this afternoon to investigate, but I gotta cut/split firewood at some point, customers have been asking me haha
So after speaking to @Elk1111 Friday on the phone and then texting again last night he had me bypass the lines/filters/etc using a fuel can and a small section of hose.
After keeping the engine running with ether for about 30secs, using small puffs to keep it going. The IP/booster pulled fuel...
I appreciate that. I got frustrated this morning and had to walk away. I blew leaves all afternoon and let it sit for a bit. But I’ve at least been brainstorming which I think is more exhausting haha
It’s definitely possible. I think I have decent flow ONLY because I’m getting flow back to the tank via the return. I at least know I have fuel everywhere I should,it’s just not leaving like it should…if this makes sense.
After swapping in a different HH this morning and having the exact same issue, I’m starting to think it’s gotta be something within the pump. I think it may have been mentioned above about the lobe of the cam that the button/plunger ride on may be worn.
Does anyone have a spec of how much lift...
I got up early this morning and drove a little over an hour to pick up a HH from a guy I found on Facebook. The plunger was slightly stuck so I cleaned it up and got everything moving with very little effort. This head seems “tighter” than mine. Like maybe mine is worn out and this one still has...
Finished what I was doing to check the booster pump. It was intact and fairly clean. Nothing seemed abnormal. I reinstalled; crank no start still. Still no fuel from the injector ports on top of the HH while cranking.
As of now I’m still stumped…
I did not specifically clean the lines when they were removed.
But, I cannot even get fuel from the HH to the lines. When lines are off/loosened, no fuel is being pumped from the HH while cranking.
I can confirm the IP is spinning when checking it’s timing.
I can confirm nothing is stuck as far as the plunger and HH are concerned.
I can confirm the plunger does in fact move up and down while cranking, and the gear is spinning inside the HH.(not sure how much or if correct but it does...
I hate to throw parts at this thing or anything for that matter, especially expensive ones. But at this point I am still stumped.
So, if you were a bettin’ man/woman, what would you start with…?
Replacing the HH?
Checking/Replacing the boost pump?
Removing IP for inspection?
Thanks!
