I can imagine if you were trying to bid on an auction and the system wasn't working and it wouldn't accept your bid you would be glad the auction had been extended. Just a thought.
Not that bad with harmonic balancer remover and installer tool. Never hammer a balancer onto the crank nor use the bolt that holds it on to install or you will pull the threads inside the crank. You can remove bottom pan and front cover to put new front seal in. Then remove rear main cap to...
Remove the cable from the speedometer, drop it down and remove the cable completely from the cable housing. Clean it really good with some spray lube to remove all the old grease. Sometimes there is a dry hard blob in the cable housing that will come out when you remove the cable. After getting...
I would not put this engine in before putting a new balancer and front and rear main seals. A lot easier on a stand than in the truck. I have had a balancer spit the rubber out on an '89 1 ton with low miles.
That wire looks nearly new. How did you get a new strand of wire caught on the drive shaft?
Good job fixing problem quickly! Many rear ends get burned plumb up when this happens.
Just my 2 cents but why did you put the 5 gallon of diesel in a can in the back instead of putting it in the tank. Never run a diesel engine out of fuel on anything. I would also suspect the starter brace. Who put the new starter on and what was wrong with the old one. If your starter is a new...
It sounds like your starter drive could still be engaged in the flywheel and didn't release when it started. This starter could possibly have been damaged with the run on and may need to be replaced again.
The "new radiators" won't even fit into the rubber saddles correctly to help absorb the shock of the road let alone off road. If you want to embrace new technology why do you even have a CUCV or any other military vehicle.
All of these discussed things is what makes horse trading happen!!
A good radiator shop can remove the brass tanks and install a brand new brass core and it's not a 30 year old radiator any more and it's good for another 30 years.
