I have been around MV's for a couple weeks now and from what I have seen the "chines" rubber does not last. I had two window seals sealed in the bag, no rips or holes that I got back in 2004. A Newstar dealer was at my home last month when I went to install them and they fell apart in my hands...
Kipp if you want a new new one let me now.. I can get them. They should be in the 125-225 range.+
Also has he taken the pump out? most of the time the power wire rots off. It is a Fixable thing.
My first deuce with 11:00 I would get a solid 12 MPG.
I adjusted the valves once a year, kept all the filters changed and all the fluids topped off and clean.
The deuce I have now I see a good 8-9 MPG and that has been while towing my camper of Death.
I do have lockouts in the front and...
you dont see too many 427's around
most were changed out for the 465's
The main problem was head gaskets taking a load.
The 427 did make more power then the 465.
Post a pic and we can tell you if it is really a 427 or just a 465.
I to have found that the New star ones are "pre rotted" I installed silicone ones this time around. I hope that they last.
If you can find true military Surplus ones that might be your best bet.
If you would have taken the 2 min it took me to search using Google and the above numbers you would have found that WWW.FLMV.NET
Has the correct Converter for 95 bucks.
