    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Adjusting the valves is a good place to start also. .010" on the intake, .025 on the exhaust. I'm a firm believer in preventative maintenance.

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

Are you going to paint it if you get one? You need to stop dragging your heels with you truck and we spend a weekend working on it and painting it. You'll love it! :deadhorse:

    Best gear for truck pulls?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCijTz38zrU This is the first pull I ever did with my truck and I used second gear low range. As you can see I just ran out of power and should have used first low. The engine power came down so fast, I knew it was game over, so I just pushed in the clutch to...

    Best gear for truck pulls?

There is a youtube video of me pulling... let me find it and I will post the link. I am not sure how to put the video directly on the page, so the best I can do is copy and paste the link.

    Best gear for truck pulls?

I would respectfully disagree with second gear low range. When I was in my first truck pull, I had all the traction in the world. What my problem was is that I ran out of engine power. The second time I used low range first gear and did a lot better. When the sled dug in, it really pulled the...

    m35a2 wiring harness upgrade

Deuce is spelled Deuce not "duce". NOS harnesses are still available so I do not see why somebody would want to put something else in that may not work. I would just keep it original but that is just my opinion.

    Post your H45 heater setups

How tall does the flue pipes have to be? I am guessing the stove can not operate without the flue pipes because the stove needs the draft, correct?

    Post your H45 heater setups

I didn't see a clear answer on the stove pipe diameter. I bought one of these stoves the other day and I measured the diameter on the stove and it was something like 3-7/8" and I was told the cap is 3" diameter (I did not measure the cap myself). So what pipe should I buy? Should i buy a 4' to...

Old Garage Find: PE-75 Near MINT Genset!

It runs good and I load tested it with 1000 watts and it did great. This generator is a nice unit! I should have plugged in my toaster oven and deuce block heater in it also to really make it work. I inspected the generator brushes at the same time I put the belt on and they were in great shape...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

That Is my thinking but I don't have anything to back it up. If the fronts saw more line pressure (or more physical force against the shoe if it had a bigger diameter wheel cylinder) then I could understand more shoe wear.... but if everything is the same, i don't see that they should wear out...

    Transfer Case Bad Input Bearing

I think I had about $300 in parts rebuilding m transfer case. I also replaced one yoke because the seal surface was not good. If i was going to do it again, I might buy a NOS rebuilt one, and pull it apart for an inspection and see how everything looks just because I want to know how everything...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

Another update. I checked my rear brake shoes last night with my buddy ( 74M35A2 ) and they look to be in great shape, not worn looking at all. All my wheel cylinders are working as they should... I tested one while I had the drum off by having "Soldier B" lightly press the brake pedal down...

    M151 Horn beeps by itself

If its like most horn systems on these MVs, I take a guess and say its a chaffed or worn wire in your steering column. Your horn button is on your steering wheel, right? If so, somewhere the wire comes out of your steering box for your horn. This is a common place for wires to break for horns...

Dietz Model 32 Road Flare / "smudge pot"

Parrot, Those are neat looking! I just wish I could get mine not to leak when they are filled up. Maybe I need a new gasket on the cap that covers the burner after the flame goes out.

Old Garage Find: PE-75 Near MINT Genset!

I shot that straw in the spark plug hole twice! hahaha! so if pulling on it did not kill you, it made you stronger. you'll be fine! We still have to lap the valves, adjust them and install the new parts. The new parts came in the other day, so we have some work to do! After all this talk, it...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

Just an update, I checked my front wheel cylinders and they are 1-3/8" bore. I am going to check my rear shoes sometime soon and see what those shoes look like. Updates to follow.

Old Garage Find: PE-75 Near MINT Genset!

I thought the MEP-003A (10KW) should be around 100 amps of 120 volt. My MEP-002A does 52 amps of 120 volt and that is 5 KW.

Old Garage Find: PE-75 Near MINT Genset!

That's what I was thinking! Who makes that?? I thought 2 pumps of chassis grease was better than the dry grease that is probably in there.
