M35A3 Seat Parts Compatibility? Better seat comfort than the A2?

Thanks for the pictures Welldigger! Could the seat base be trimmed to get to the master cylinder cover? So the seat bottom and back are the same as a HMMWV? what about the adjustment knob and shaft? I wouldn't think it is specific to the A3, correct?

M35A3 Seat Parts Compatibility? Better seat comfort than the A2?

I have a seat from a M35A3 which has the high back to it. My problem is that the adjustment knob is broken off. The shaft itself broke right where the knob does on (the knob got hit when the seat dropped) and I need a replacement. Also the upholstery is faded pretty bad and I would like to get...

    2014 Findlay Ohio buy/sell/trade thread

Anybody interested in brake shoes for an M151 or master cylinders for a HUMWV (spelling?)? I also have 2 wheel cylinders for an 800 series 5 ton.

    2014 Findlay Ohio buy/sell/trade thread

some more items for my list are some good 9.00-20 Tires mounted on rims. They will be going on the front of my truck, so want them to be in good shape. I also could use some parts for an M35A3 seat, like the screw adjustment that sticks out infront of the seat. mine is broken off. I also could...

How much can a 5 ton tow?

Somewere I saw a 5 ton hauling logs and the logs were twice as long as the truck and going over the cab. It looked like the picture was taken in another country. I wish i had the picture, maybe somebody on here knows what I am talking about and will post it.

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

You are welcome to come over and test mine out if I have the 1.5" wheel cylinders! :-D Mine is also a winch truck. Like I said, I think all my brakes are working fine. I have put a lot of miles on it and have taken care of it, so I would think its normal. I would like to pull he rear duals and...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

On pavement, I think I have locked up one of the rears before, but not all of them when I hit the brakes hard. I have never locked up a front that I remember. It stops very well and will almost lift a passenger out of their seat. I have had no issue with feeling like I never had enough brakes...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

I don’t drive my truck like a race car so I don’t think that has a huge factor in brake shoe wear. Valid points though! I have always kept by brake shoes in adjustment and they have always worked very well I think. It is going to be a while until I get to changing the brake shoes. I know I have...

    Binghamton to Livonia Michigan

Binghamton, NY to Livonia, Michigan I have a trip planned out to drive my Deuce from Binghamton, NY to Livonia, Michigan over easter. I am not sure all what I will bring out with me yet, but I will have my M105A2 in tow. I might have room to bring something out for somebody if I have room for...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

Thanks G! I’ll have to check them out when I change the brake shoes. So these bigger wheel cylinders are usually only found on the front of A3 deuces? They never put the 1.5" bore wheel cylinders on a rear axle? Original early A2 deuces just had the same size wheel cylinders all the way...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

But the M35A2 Deuce does not have a proportioning valve. If I blow one line, I lose everything. It has the single circuit brakes, not the split brake system like the M35A3. Even with the M35A3, I don’t know what that brake system is like other than two air packs. I should try to find a brake...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

I checked the front axle brake shoes and they are worn down more than the rear axle brake shoes. I would say there is only about .010 inch left before it hits rivets. When I checked the brake shoes on the rear axle they still look great. Its hard for me to estimate how many miles are on the...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month March 2014 - Nominate here!

Here is my 1972 AM General M35A2 W/W that I have owned for about 5 years now. I have put about 25,000 miles on it in those 5 years and absolutely love driving it. I have had the truck everywhere and did/do everything with it. I never had so much fun going so slow. I also crashed it about 2 years...

24 volt trailer wiring to 12v Using Relays Diagram

That diagram is exactly how I planned on wiring my trailer lights up someday. I have a seperate alternator for my 12 system, so getting 12 volts is not a problem at all. Nice to see a diagram!
