Trucks have been known to be started by jumping them directly at the starter and the cables should be easy to replace. On this note, don't operate it without good batteries or else you'll burn out the regulator and then be dead in the road. Good luck!

Since it's under 4500 lbs governed weight it can be registered in Texas with just a bill of sale...and it being previously registered. If the farmer never had tags for it you will have trouble. I have 14 M101A1/2/3s right now and just went through these hoops. It's best if the previous owner...
I have my alternators rebuilt here in town for about $100/w labor. I too have had this issue where a pulley stripped out and nearly left me overheated on the side of the road. I highly recommend these guys.
