I have a M109a3 truck that obviously has a large blind spot. I added a Rear View Safety backup camera to it (RVS-770613). It works with 12-24v, has IR Night vision, Color monitor and speaker (though I can not hear anything with the truck running). The system also accepts up to 4 cameras so you...
Weight of wheels & tires
An SS member that I sold some MRAP wheel adapters to was kind enough to give me a list of weights for various rims and tires that he weighed on a digital scale while he was breaking them down and building up a set he wanted. Also below are pictures of the 12bolt MRAP...
Where have you guys found the best source of a quality airpack rebuild kits? Do the rebuild kits tend to be chinese now as most other new replacement seals are? If so are there any known US made kits out there currently?
So if Im reading this right, you did the Gringletaube mod which removes about 2.5 degrees from the 4.4 degree angled spring perch, and you put a 2 degree shim in.... so basically your spring perch/seats are flat or "0" degree now right? And your caster would probably be +6 degree?
Thanks for...
I put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my 109 because I was getting strange readings with the stock unit. You may want to do the same as it eliminates potential for a bad electrical sender, a bad electrical gauge or poor wire connections.
I work in medical device mfg and Zeus is the big tubing/heat shrink mfg. not sure if they have what you need or not but it would be a good place to look http://www.zeusinc.com/extrusionservices/products/heatshrinkabletubing.aspx?gclid=CJ7fi_bakbYCFetAMgodxDEAAw

Welcome as well. I live in the Rogers area. Pete is right about TIE6044. If you go the bobber route (or any 2.5 ton/5 ton). Scott will be your new best friend. He is a great resource to us in the area, lots of trucks, parts and help. His prices are great and he is just a fun guy to talk with.
The bar method is probably the safer bet. Besides all the unknowns with the friction loss etc of the torque multiplier, you have the torque wrench unknowns as well. Say you have a spare cheapo torque wrench like a Harborfreight one or the likes. They CLAIM a +/- 4% accuracy, you still multiply...
Making FMTV wheels fit the deuce with MRAP adapters
Here are some pics a customer sent me. He isn’t an SS member, but he had acquired some FMTV wheels and wanted them to fit the deuce axles.
When he bought the wheels, he wasn’t aware they wouldn’t easily adapt to the axles. He decided anyway to...
Here are some pics for someone that just did this with standard MRAP adapters welded into the FMTV wheels. I think there are a couple options out there now for getting a FMTV wheel to fit a deuce...
I second Woodsplinters recommendation. I also bought one of these and its nice. Think I paid around $150 shipped off ebay, it includes the sockets needed for the nuts and square thimbles and is small and fits in the truck better than the stock lugwrench does.
Can anyone tell me the diameter of the round leg that is supposed to fit into the bracket by the exhaust pipe? I'm planning on making a light bar that will mount into it, but when measuring that bracket, I cant tell if it should fit a 2" OD tube or 2-1/8" or even 2-1/4" diameter tube. Thanks...
