Mil spec 20# sledge proved handy. Seals were in ok shape, but less flexible, so I replaced them. There are 2 in each hub for the CTIS. There is a third seal at the base of the hub, which I opted not to replace. I used my 3 and 7/8" socket to drive the seals lightly with a 5# sledge. Does the...
My truck came from a snow / salt region. Thus, my drums are seized. Here is my removal device. Made it with a Harbor Freight engine stand I had and a bottle jack. Chains rated at 11k # x 4. Hooks (rated at 10k #)came from HF too.
This tool require reinforcement at the 4 swing out arms, as they...
My regulator is a n3030. I note that some of the other posts with regard to tapping the regulator for a signal, used a different regulator. It only has two posts and one military style connector on the front. Do I still use the the white post?
Can I assume this is the terminal on the regulator on top of the alternator? I see that there is some sort of rectifier in the middle of the truck too.
Thanks!

I repaired all of the air brake lines torn out by a forklift. Replaced two cans. Took 3 courses on air brakes. There is the operator science and pneumatic science. I noted that there are various air line sizes and automatic and manual valves apparently.
"I am an air brake guy not. Herh herh...
Are you sure that is the same part? I noticed someone else's TPV was different from mine. Is it possible the 6WD trucks have a different valve from the 4WD?
Working on on tracto protection valve N50012B
Working on the Tractor Protection Valve. The right rear gladhands was leaking air last week, so I decided to pull the valve. sure enough, it was dirty in the valve body. The valve actually worked fine yesterday, but I don't want to take a chance...
It actually looked like O ring lube and possibly something red? I believe that these got lubed by techs when they stuck. Just a hunch. I have figured out why the valves with vents go bad. The thin plastic flapper valve distorts with time and heat and stays open and allows dirt to enter the...
In regard to picture 2015-05-28 20.04.25.jpg Attachment 562135, Does the pointed portion of the rubber valve goes towards the metal portion of the valve (with the sunburst cut) or toward the black plastic cap portion ?
I found some sort of lubrication in my tractor valve, did you? Did you use any lubrication? Me thinks someone went under truck and injected something in the exhaust port to free it.
