Guys, I respect you all but the short answer is to replace batteries as a matched set to maintain optimum lifespan.

Many examples my doubting friend. The most extreme is loss of engine ground. When you operate the starter, hundreds of amps look for a way to escape. The thin wires to gauges and aftermarket projects and such now become the only available pathways.
I suggest looking for more grounding issues...

I’m surprised more members don’t just go to the local boat shoppe and get a custom top made. They even do stuff like that for bikini tops on the Hummer H1 forums I know. Any one of us can bend rebar to make the hoops.
