I reread your post. Please forgive my additional response.
You would seem to have a toasted box.
I know you’re a purist but this can become an expensive issue if an exploded plug scratches a cylinder.
I worked with others including CamO to design mine and I published the plans as freeware.
I...
“Respectfully”, given that I have both supercharged and turbo units as well as n/a units, AND I have a P400, and my Military unit also runs a Bow tie Overdrive heavily modified transmission 765R4, and I’m also running methanol water injection, and I have EGT sensors to monitor it all, I figured...
Why not just build an idiot proof PCB and forget the TSU. Plans start on Post #51 with schematics. (Several other Steel Soldier members have and are super happy.)

I have a Whipple supercharger on my civilian H1 one and I enjoy it however turbocharging a P 400 is probably the best way to go. You need to buy the turbo charger type heads and then get a turbo charge intake and exhaust manifold and the turbo charger itself. If you have a true P 400 block it...
Be careful replacing the pump if you have the cylinder that pushes the lever type setup. You need to place a glob of Vaseline on the cylinder pushrod and push it high up into the hole and make sure it stays there before replacing with the new pump or you will crack the pushrod and have more...
If I am envisioning your truck, the central bumper attachement has a steel bar drilled at either end that fits under the hood bumper and slides into a small rectangular space. That is what the bumper bolts attach to. Seems like yours is missing.
Many might say that you might as well go for a 6 cylinder Cummins or a turbo diesel 6.5 instead of 4BT. Go to website 4btswaps.com
Limited budget and HMMWV don’t mix.
Go with a 24 volt starter and stop being penny wise and pound foolish. 24 Volt spins faster and starts engine more easily.

I have a set of 2.56 gears for my new to me ECV. That being said, I don’t trust this vehicle over 70 MPH, (maybe 75).
if I upgrade to 20 inch rims with runflats, maybe I’ll rethink it.
GPS speedometer and stock unit good enough for me right now with 6.2 and ECV
Ibis tech is fine BUT if you drive smart these units are amazing. If you drive with rabbit starts and stops you might have issues.
I drove 5000 miles round trip AND I loved it. Drive carefully, and don’t do stupid things. Pulling anything is potentially finicky BUT I’d rather pull something...
A three ton plus vehicle decelerating creates a bit of force. More than enough to depress the brake pedal. It really makes pulling and stopping a heavy vehicle much more comfortable and manageable.
