    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

Loaded up the truck last Friday to take the empty aluminum cans to the scrap yard. When i tried to start the truck it would crank but not run. Tried 4 or 5 times without any luck. Ended up checking the filter and hoses for flow and there was none. I tried to pressurize the tank and no luck...

    Smoother Ride?

You can always store a bunch of sand bags in the back. The weight will load the springs and you get better traction. You can also use the sand if you get stuck on ice.

3rd member swap in truck - looking for advice

For someone in charge of this site you are not providing a good example of a thread title. (in fact it does not make any sense at all) Not even DH could find it in a search!

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

I finished painting the truck today. I started by unbolting the tool box mounted behind the cab. I then wiped down the surface with surface prep and primed some exposed spots. I got the top painted and then painted around the back window. I also finished painting the passenger side door and...

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

Today I started by sanding the front bumper and brush-guard. Both had spots of flaking paint and surface rust. Once sanded I applied a coat of Rusty Metal Primer to the bumper and brush-guard. After cleaning the rest of the surfaces with wax and grease remover I continued to paint the front...

    1,040 mile trip.... no problems!

Nice truck. I see you were carrying your own wheel chuck. Air ride seat are a must in all my trucks. Springers are back breakers! I also found that there is more space between the steering wheel and my stomach with the air ride seats. One mod I would recommend for all 5 tons and Deuces is...

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I had this truck for over 6 months without many comments from the people down here. After we did the lift and the HMMWV tires and rims I get a lot of compliments about how cool the truck is. Hopefully I will get even more with the paint work completed...

    goldneagle's M52A2 restore thread

Well today was a miracle day. They finally came to pick up the M52A2. Been waiting almost a year for it to leave. I hired a wrecker to come lift it up and drag it down the road to where the freight truck was waiting for it's cargo. With a drop deck it was easy for the wrecker driver to push...

    Hello all!

I don't think you can find one. Best bet is to get a tan one and add the rest of the CAMO colors yourself. Krylon Fusion is great on Vinyl. (Most people prefer hardtop to soft top.

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

Started today by taking pictures of the truck before the paint job. Had some serious body work to do on the tailgate. Sanded the dented areas to bare metal and then applied several coats of BONDO to fill in the dents an nicks. Used my DA sander to sand between application of filler. Once...
