Read-read-read! Everything you need to know about your truck and to answer your questions in great detail. :clinto: If the Army did one thing right it's these TM's.
Double check the brakes as they are a...
Update:
I bypassed the PCB box with jumper wires and still nothing from the starter. I'm having a shop take it out and see what the deal is, hopefully just a bad unit. I'm fearful of the engine being locked up but even if so the starter would try to do something.
Howdy and congrats on the truck. I had an M52A1 a few years back and she was a tough old truck. The LDS is very similar to the LDT in deuce and a halfs so most parts are cross compatible. Check the parts reference sticky on the site for more info. There's a lot of conversation about going to...
The location you are thinking of does have cheaper trucks as of late but you must do your own inspection work from the video/pics and take a gamble. So far I've noticed most trucks from that place were turned in for rebuild or rustproofing and have sat a long time. I have 6 sitting in my yard...
I'm having two trucks do this to me currently, one has power to the gauges and the other doesn't. I installed a known good box to simplify the situation but still no-start. I've tried the percussion maintenance, cleaned the contacts, and checked voltages to the bendix and starter it self..all a...
I do it for the "lulz". My m1028 from Ft. Hood had just over 2K miles on it but it was a rebuilt unit that was given to a TSC (test support contractor) for on base use. Telling people you own a 84' chevy with 2K miles makes their head spin haha!
You'd think so but some of those old iron horses should have been put down years ago by the looks of it. I never thought I'd see one with all tires totally flat as the state itself. LOL!
If you have the means to get them to your place that would help, PM me the details. I'm looking at all options.
I ended up with 3 trucks out of Ft Riley, Kansas: 2x m925 and 1x m923A1. All are described as non-runners but are clean trucks with good tires, I'm betting they'll fire up with fuel and batteries. Looking to get them driven or delivered to Bryan, Tx 77840 by the 21st of July. I have tools and...
Solution:
The sounds were taken care of with a cover, WillWagner is indeed correct in his diagnosis and repair. I will have to source some other internal components related to the tach assembly to get it fully operational again but at least it's nothing serious. Thanks!:goodjob:
Check for any air leaks with the truck off and airing up the system with an air compressor. Check the air dryer to see if the bottom flap is sealing correctly. Generally a poke or prod with a skinny instrument will reseat it. Those are the easy/common steps.
I recently picked up an M923A2 that was super clean but a non-runner due to the typical loss of fuel prime. After I got it running I noticed a metallic pinging coming from the drivers side around the IP. The tach cable adapter/connector is MIA. The fluids are good and brand new, no blow by, runs...
They should send it to you automatically in the mail as long as the auction said a title would be provided. I've had some issues with generator trailers being inventoried in their system as "generator with trailer" so their system didn't flag it for an sf-97. Had to call in the old fashion way...
