Thanks for the directions. I got it apart quite easily, the gears are nearly perfect and the grease was still good. I have it soaking in a penetrating solution so I'll take a crack at it in a few days.
I've pulled out the TM 9-2330-205-14 which covers the trailer and the landing leg disassembly/reassembly but my leg is not the one pictured (square vs circular). I need to identify and break this unit down to see why it isn't cranking right. The leg is fully retracted and the grease was good, I...
Buy a standard set of the coiled red and blue air lines on semi trucks and 4 glad hands. Works like a charm, I've been using mine for years. Find them on flebay, amazon, etc.
Just the first one I came across..

I'm going through the "state certificate of title" process right now to see how it works. So far by who I've spoken with at GP is they do exactly what you'd do with your SF-97 here in texas but they do it in Florida instead. Since GP already charged me sales tax on the invoice then you should...
I'm going to jump on the "20 ton" thread with my now called M915A1E1. Installed 395s, GSS Air-Ride seats, and A/C kit. Next is spare tire caddy expansion and MRAP storage boxes. :jumpin:
I've only recently had this issue which boggles me. My m1028's GPs will toggle sporadically when my wipers are on. It's seems to act up mostly when it's raining (though possibly just the time I'd use the wipers most) but still sometimes when it's dry out. If I let the truck idle until warm with...
I just lift my m1028 4" and am running the HMMWV 37" tires. It's a good fit but any serious bumps in the road will make it clip the fenders, it's my daily highway driver I'm not concerned about it and haven't had an issue yet. Stock height I believe 33" is the max tire size without rubbing but...
That should be enough, I've gotten around the Ft Hood area doing exactly that. My personal advice is don't stop at a station as it's a POV (privately owned vehicle) and you'll confused the guys there as military vehicles with all sorts of special exemptions and etc..but of course the obligatory...
Having owned 3 here's a few tips:
Check the rear hub temps early into your journey, the brakes tend to stick if sitting to long.
The air lines are barely able to stretch through a tight turn, best bring air lines extensions with gladhands or else you may pull them out.
There are no "right on...
Got my 4" lift and 37" tires installed, went with steel spacers for the front as I don't trust the aluminum ones. Though my CUCV is technically an m1028 it's really outfitted like an Jr. m1031 so I may end up giving it its own nomenclature when all is said and done. As far as the 4" lift goes...
I disagree, it's more of a learning aid when no visuals are present. The probability of them learning the proper nomenclatures right and mixing it up are far greater than if they got clear logical information they could remember then clarified.
I agree the "A0" designation doesn't exist but it is helpful when teaching people who have no experience in the military field or hobby. Saying M923, M923A1, M923A2 out loud gets tiresome and confuses them with all the numbers being spurt about not to mention all the other models of that series...
Glad to see everyone again including new faces, I'm also glad I wasn't called to winch anyone out with the wrecker this year . Trailboss: You're not giving me much hope once I load up all my tools in the M1028 but then again I don't have the big box or covered trailer to pull around. NDT...
A pickup wont be able to tow this trailer, it's 11K lbs empty and designed to be pulled by a HEMTT. It will require at least a 5 ton as it stands a good chance of pushing around a deuce at highway speeds.
