Did a little work today, Menards had some garage racks that are the standard size for a lot of camping pads - 24 wide 75 long (ish). Strong, fairly light, cheap ($360 for pretty much what you see here). I can tie them into the unistrut easily and makes them modular if I want put them in another...
I tried a few methods to unscrew (hammer in torx bit, various extractors), no joy with any. 2 minutes with a drill and backflusing to clean out chips and it's been working great. I don't plan on putting my head under the lowering tire so the safety valves are somewhat useless. I don't have...
Had a few free minutes today so was mocking up bed locations(location only, it will be much more slick than this). Need to sleep 4 so planning on foldable bunks with cot sized mattresses is the current plan. Having the framing in already is great for this as I don't need to build so much bed...
I'll be using heat pump or diesel heat depending. Our house uses a heat pump and the frosting on the window bottoms only happens when we hit about -10F.
Such a small area is likely to have a little more humidity though.
The pass through is probably the most likely to frost up right now although...
Put in dricore underlayment (foam bonded to OSB to give me some extra insulation, moisture management, sound deadening). Then layed down some sheet vinyl. Ended up going with sheet over planks or anything else just due to the low maintenance nature. I have dirty kids, things are going to get...
Harbor freight 20% off generator sale, then 10% off with new card made it a good time to buy a generator.
5000w peak, 3900w continuous. Will fit nicely in this spot. I don't have the factory shields for this spot, will likely laser cut some custom brackets and also make it locked so not easily...
Having done this, it's really easy to update that bearing on the newer trucks without the cross member on the upper frame rail (might depend on the truck designation too). Price for the plastic bearing is ridiculous though.
Lots of places, it's called "accordion seal" (Google search) and there are various sizes available. I got mine from some ambulance supply place.

Whichever I want. I would likely pull it off the cab. Fits the same on both sides of the seal. There is a metal spring inside the rubber and you just push it on the flange.
I used two identical electrical cabinets manufactured by Hammond. They have quarter turn locks, although right now I don't have keyed ones they're just screwdriver turned but you can swap them out for pretty much any kind you want. They also have a nice rubber seal around the perimeter so if the...
Will see how it goes, my original idea was similar to this and I can still add on the feature if I find it a pain, but then I also have to worry about bracketry to support that intermediate flange when tilting cab. Not a big deal just more parts. I'm going with the assumption, the truck will now...
Yep, it just pulls off very quickly, can be put back in a minute or two. I was going to do a quick disconnect method but decided to go with simplicity and reliability.
