Working at getting the new to me m916 operational. Mechanically it is great, 2011 rebuild, but won't build air past 30 psi on the rear tank, front tank gauge is inop. I've been reading the tms and searching SS to prepare for the recovery but I'm at a loss so far. I attempted to air up the system...
Picked up a 017a on an m116a1 trailer from GSA. 1990 rebuild with 260hr on the clock. At first look she was used then put away wet (old gas plugged the fuel line, jerry can still attached) but with a bypass and an oil change she fired up like new. Now to load test when weather permits.
A very good read. +1 for Shell Rotella

I just met with Jeepsinker for Dinner as he passed back through town. Repairs were made and he is road worthy again heading back home. New studs, bolts, etc but the CTIS is fubar on that hub. I got a look at the rim and it could have been much worse but thankfully it wasn't. I'll let him post...
Just got a call from Jeepsinker, he was traveling towards Austin with his m936a2 towing an m923a2. He said his rear left wheel studs on his wrecker sheered off completely and he is on the side of the road. No injuries but the rim is shredded. He has a replacement tire/rim but the studs are...
I recently picked up a MEP-017A from GSA and the VFD bypassed the fuses on the voltage regulator with alligator clips. Needless to say this is unsafe, I have no info on the missing fuses as they are MIA. Looking up the TM and searching has produced no results.
Let me tackle a few questions:
Could be anything, everything, or nothing from Ft Hood. There's no telling short of inspecting in person.
Could be missing, replaced, or lines/pans punctured. Search for the thread on drained CUCV's at Ft. Hood. (scary stuff..)
Batteries are usually dead or...
patracy is correct in regards to modifying modules, addons, or "hacks" to vBulletin as this can lead to many potential issues with the site. He has the right idea reducing them and I commend him for scaling it down this far functionally. That being said we need to work with what we have to solve...
Howdy from College Station! A number of those sold out of Hooks, Tx last year. Where they came from can be anywhere (i hedge my bets on airbases) and the value is what you think it's worth. It does looks good.
Thanks! She is an A1 and was turned up by someone. The speedo stopped accurately tracking at about 62mph and only when I stopped for fuel my buddy in the chase car told me my speed. I thought he was pulling my leg.
Yes, 55mph under full load. I wouldn't dare do it again but she likes about...
Referencing a recent thread: Post #45 & #46. Drop the stack and cargo cover and you should be fine. Note this was with an M813 on 11x20's so the deuce is a little shorter. If you feel to be more cautious then drop the windshield and troopseats as well...
