I don't know how many of you are interested in doing this, but a friend in my local off road club did this to his doors and I couldn't resist a free modification. It only takes about 2 hours to do if you are slow and makes removing the doors 100 times easier.

I have no complaints about my 4" blocks (other than one being upside down thanks to the previous owner), though I have no experience in the spring vs lift block debate.
I like my 4" my friends k5 has a 6" and I think it feels to tall for my liking. It really depends on what size tire you want to run and if you want to do some cutting. As for the driveshafts the 4" is really the biggest you can go without changing the u joints to a compound joint or dropping the...
Thats what mine has and it works great. Mine is all rusted and looks factory. I have towed a 2000lb air compressor with my m1009 and it had no problems with the hitch, just the hills so we had to do about 45.

How can you tell if the radiator needs to be de-crapped other than the look of it? I know mine has lots of build up on the outsides of the tubes, but the temp light has never come on while driving in 95+ temps and running 35"tires with the 308 gears.
Well i cant say for sure, but a little while after I began running a mix of diesel, waste vegetable oil, and transmission fluid, my IP went out with no warning. Just driving down the street and lost power and died within 2 miles. Never had a hard time starting or any symptoms. Now I just run...
I think if you lift it at all get the drive shaft checked by a pro. I have a 4" block lift and broke the t-case, tranny case, and adapter when I got the rear end bouncing while off roading. Turns out the stock drive shaft was like 1" short and came out far enough to be out of its bushing and...
Ok so don't worry about not feeling the 2-3 shift at all. I meant I don't think it slipps at all in 3rd or anything just no feeling to the shift, just the sound of the engine dropping rpms. Do you think it shifts harder in the winter 60-70 degreese out because the coolant is cooler meaning...
