Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

There will always be in element in society, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement who will say, “you can’t have/do that because I/we don’t like it.” The key is to be responsible and patriotic citizens involved in the process as much as possible. Sometimes it means voting or making phone calls...

I think it would be fun to get some sort of clear, IR reflective paint and draw crazy designs on the deuce.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

Suing is the expensive way to go. I hope it wouldn’t come to that. I agree of some sort of fundraising if a suit is needed.

Bad Bill for Title Military Surplus Off Road Moves to Virginia Senate

The other issue I see is once VA stamps the title as Off-road Use Only, if the vehicle is taken to another state the owner might have trouble with registration due to the stamped title from VA.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

How does a senator remain anonymous? There are usually paper trails for people who file bills or cosponsor or voice support.

Military HMMWV Vs Civilian Hummer H1

Many antique cars are not roadworthy by modern standards. From Model T’s and before to cars from the 50’s and 60’s. We take a calculated risk. We carefully maintain the vehicles and drive them carefully to reduce the risk to a minimum.

Bad Bill for Title Military Surplus Off Road Moves to Virginia Senate

That's nuts. I would think section C would be satisfied by a safety inspection. That's what safety inspections are for.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

Since the DOD still considers our vehicles as a potential military asset if they need them, what about a federal law that would allow them to be registered and insured? I know World War 3 (.1427) isn't likely but a fleet of well maintained and operating vehicles could be handy to have around.

    Any Missouri owners here?

One of the guys in St Louis bought a M151 from a friend in Kansas with a title and short VIN. He said he had to have the VIN checked by the local police but it wasn’t a big deal. I think he got an antique plate. The antique plates in Missouri do have some mileage and use restriction. You can...

Bad Bill for Title Military Surplus Off Road Moves to Virginia Senate

That's good news unless you use a FMV for business. That could be changed in the future.

Bad Bill for Title Military Surplus Off Road Moves to Virginia Senate

The "verify your story" part kind of makes me wonder if someone isn't suspicious of people who own or want to own former military vehicles. Not that it's some sort of high level conspiracy, just maybe someone who has their nose out of joint a little.

Oklahoma Bill Introduced to Create Titling for HUMVEES

My guess is they are worried about vehicles traveling 55 or 65 on the 75mph highways. A legitimate consideration. The interstate's convenient but we aren't going anywhere fast anyway.
