    Freezin' in WI

6.2/6.5 gm/detroits are notoriously cold blooded (though nowhere near as bad a powerjoke or idi 7.3). They require working glow plugs to foire and keep running. If the truck is lighting off but wont stay running, how much throttle are you giving her to keep her running? We used to flat foot...

Small fire in the 5 ton M923

I would test the batts. The 6tl's ive had that melted terminals off were shot. Are you POSITIVE the batteries were not contacting the seat base? Im seeing this on so many trucks lately its got me worried to the point i lifted my sear base by 1/2" and installed rubber over the terminals

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yep what Wes said. Just run the adapters on the newer style plugs. and the post above me is good too. I prefer to wire the eyelets straight to the plug so the alligators dont get knocked off.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

No sir i purchased a plug from a member here. I didnt want to cut my slaves up. The supplied eyelets from the genius fit through the head and plug terminals perfectly. Very impressed. Had it on the truck for 4 hours and went full charge and its now maintaining the batts. Superior to the old...

Fill spout for threaded fuel cans, repairing rubber seal?

Ahhh. You said threaded. Thats a donkey d1ck with expanding end. I have in the past used silicone gasket maker to build the gasket back up. It didnt last long, i have a few dozen laying around so i just tossed it in the barn and grabbed an NOS one.

Deuce with Cummins 6BT Info thread

Zf5 is a decent trans i would rather have a nv4500 for durability with bigger power. My point with the zf6 post was the fact that around here you can buy the trans cheap as all get out and it seems like a good deal till you need parts and cant find them.

Deuce with Cummins 6BT Info thread

i dont like the 1 piece wheels but thats just me. Why would you dump beadlocks? I understand not wanting to run the split rims as most folks around here wont touch them. On your g177 tires get with Wes. He sent me pics with plenty of 177 tires in them. Im very happy with what i payed for 395's

Deuce with Cummins 6BT Info thread

You are all aware how hard zf parts are to come by now and it will only get worse. Just did a clutch on powerstroke with a zf6. Took some serious hunting to find the clutch fork. And even a pivot ball (ford uses stupid plastic) wasnt easy to find around here.

Pretty good job sir. Factory trans? Or an NV unit? Not much room for an intercooler huh?
