Thats exactly what i do. I feed my shop which is 600ft from my house then it backfeeds up to the main panel. Is it against code with no transfer or lockout, probably but who is checking and as long as you know what your doing no harm will be done. Just always remember when the power goes out...
thanks greenmv
i got a pm from someone looking for the source and part # for the dc voltage system capacitor i have been using in these rebuilds. just for future reference i will post the info. i have been getting them from www.newark.com and the part # is 65k2236. current price is only about...
Rob the adjustmet is in the depot manual. 7-5 maybe.. Or around there. I was looking at it yesterday. If you lift your shutoff solenoid the governor arm should lift the throttle arm almost all the way up. Thats when its not running. Basically when its off that gov arm should be way up and the...
You can see if one if our other members chimes in and has one otherwise i would call delks, saturn or one of the other surplus places to see if they have one.
Just an unimportant question/observation....I notice the 002 has a crankcase ventilation system on it. A small canister with a hose that runs to the intake. I just find it strange that the 002 has this but the 003 does not. Anyone got any idea why?
Hey speddmon, wont he need pins and sockets? Different sizes for different gauge wires. Not sure if they will come as a kit with the pins and sockets or not. Duetz and all the other brand connectors are usually seperate.
Those are canon plugs. You might try newark. Not positive but i think your gonna have a hard time finding them though in the same pattern. You would probably be easier getting a spool of white wire, cut, solder in extensions on each one. You can even dig up white heatshrink to seal the joint.
Yes they are offset a bit so when you put the weight on them they are straight. 3/4" is way too much though. If its that much then the metal is torn from the rubber
thanks massey. when i find parts i always try to include the source and part # so everyone can find the stuff later.
ok guys here she is all done. i put one of my data plate kits on it and the diesel logos.
took about 30 sec of cranking first time to get the fuel all up into the injectors...
this is funny but have you checked the oil level. i know you said you replaced but be sure to double check the level. mine here was only a quart low and had the same symptoms. it would run long enough to pump oil up into the engine then the oil level came down just enough to trip the shutoff. it...
ok guys my new voltage meter showed up today. i got the control box all put back together except for the hour meter which i am waiting on. new voltage gauge installed. the simpson meter comes real close to matching the original a&m style. seems like a real nice quality piece. the control panel...
i have been reassembling the distribution and control boxes. when i was removing the 120v receptacle i noticed it was a little black in the corner like someone stuck something in it they werent supposed to and shorted it out. figured i had better replace it. also the original bell watertight...
hey thanks!! as for the mounts i managed to score a set from gimpyrobb. there is a guy selling them on a big auction site;). the part # is j-12021. seems to be a common problem. the other 003 i have here that i havent tore into yet has wiped mounts as well. its kinda strange the lighter 002...
i know right. ill have to pull em and do it. on the 002 i just did, i didnt polish them but once i glass beaded them and got them looking like copper i did clearcoat them real quick. haha
i just had a discovery channel producer over my shop last night getting footage of my 003 for a new show. had to shoot a scene where i was selling it to a friend of mine for a project in one of the shows. who knows if it will ever make it to air. we will see. probably wouldn't be for awhile if...
