yes munch but i think he said he checked the breather and it wasnt clogged. all that psi has to go somewhere. dipstick in place and it should go out the breather and into the intake through the hose. dipstick out and it goes out the tube. try clamping off the rubber hose from the breather to the...
i was so thrilled with this i had to go out and run it some more lol. prior to the tune up the gen would not start up my spray booth which is 3hp but as i said it fired over my 7.5 hp compressor which i always though was strange. i just tried it out and it fires up the booth now no problem and...
with both pistons moving up and down together the crankcase is going to build pressure like a compressor. basically the volume of both cylinders and its being forced with all the energy of the engine running. you pull that dipstick out on an 002 its no joke. oil and pressure is blowing out like...
if you have someone local that can do it great, if not send jerry a pm. fantastic work and reasonable and quick. i will never do another generator and not have the injectors gone though.
a little update with my 003. at about 80% this thing has always started puffing black smoke that just got worse at 85-90-95. also, this whole time i thought the ammeter wasnt reading correct. the gen seemed to be putting out a ton of power and ran good. well, since i rebuilt an 002 and it ran so...
i am just guessing here but i really dont think there could be enough blowby to make 2qts of oil come out the breather in a few min, especially if you have good compression. why would there be that much oil up there right next to the breather to even be pushed out by the pressure. i could see it...
i think if that were true the pistons would not stay even as the crankshaft is rotated around. atleast it looks that way in the pics.
dangier, when the engine is running did you notice if the oil psi gauge was pegged?
Yes there is an oil pressure regulator behind the flywheel i believe. Just a spring and ball. If ball is stuck then there could be over psi on the oil system. With excessive oil flow and the natural crankcase psi if the 002 it could maybe make things look really bad and more like a bliwby...
you dont need the suppressors. take them all off the unit. i remove all of them on all the generators i have done. just another thing to go bad and cause an issue.
just a little fyi. i have sent every injector for all 4 generators out to storeman/jerry to have him test and tune them. a total of 12 injectors. out of those 12 there wasnt a single one that was right. those things just get sticky and pop too high or after 30 years the spring weakens up and...
toby, this is the wiring direct from the manufacturer and the wire colors on this panel didnt conform to any standard. the black wire that changes to red is actually the neural so the neutral and ground were bonded. fortunately for me and the thousands of others that bought this, that wasnt a...
They are basically just knurled pins. They need to be pressed out of the screw shaft. I have done quite a few. Some are easy and some are hard. I just cut them off anymore and replace with dzus fasteners so you dont have to have a screw driver to open the panel
