    MEP-002 Cranks but won't Start

My psi stays pinned for awhile too. Adter 15 min or so it drops down to maybe 45. It need to be under load though tobheat up enough to thin the oil down. Viscosity plays a big part too. If the oil is too heavy then psi will stay real high. Indoubt the bypass valve is stuck.

    New GL MEP -016D

Compared to the rest of the box the connector looked kinda cheap to me and i wouldnt want anything sticking out of the back like that. I guess it depends on how you plan on using it. You know if you pull the face off and cut a square hole in the front cover on the generator dist box right where...

    New GL MEP -016D

I havent done it yet but im removing that connector and sealing the hole. I will put a hole in the side and put a plastic connector that will hold in some soow cable. Either that or ill make up a sheetmetal box that the panel part mounts into so it can sit on the ground near where i might be...

ahhh thats good info isaac. i was searching for a djf which is what we got on our 003's but the civ version is actually a djc. i forgot that. i dug up some pics and it appears that is what you got there. the military used djc's as well. i dont know what for but i found a year old gl listings for...

    Mep003?

could very well be. someone got a civvy engine and tried to make it work on an 003 somehow. the mil had the oil cooler and the civvy version doesnt....so i have heard. the bell housing is different as well. stuff like this is interesting. its like a mystery.

    MEP-002a Blue Smoke

Lacquer thinner dissolves the varninsh in seconds. I put it in a squirt bottle and run it through all the lines too. You wouldnt believe the stuff that comes out if them. A disassembly and tune on the injectors is never a bad thing.

New here and have a couple questions

I know this doesnt help you but the spin on conversions are really the way to go. You should look into that for the future. Other than napa i dont really know. They are rubber so can you reuse the ones you have now?

    MEP-002a Blue Smoke

Well under no load mine can run for hours in these temps and the shutters dont even come close to opening. When i first got done rebuilding mine and i fired it up first time and my pump wasnt right it was dumping tons of fuel in the engine. it got hot real quick. Under a no load condition i cant...

    mep-003a teardown and refurb

Found a part# error in the 003 tm. Didnt know where to post it so this being a rebuild thread i guess here will do. The valve guide seals in the 003 manual are wrong. Correct # is the one in the 002 parts manual. Correct # is 509-0132

    Need Generator Info

Im not sure about what you have but any 3 phase motor can be a phase converter. Single phase runs the motor and it generates the other 2 legs to make 3 phase out of single. Quite common for people running 3 phase equipment when none is avail.

    MEP-002a Injector gaskets

Racky, just an fyi. When you go to order the copper insulator gasket 110-0419. Onan calls it a fuel cap gasket. Why i have no idea. Maybe it was dual purpose at one time. I have a dozen of both gaskets sitting in front of me so i can 100% confirm they are the right ones.

    MEP-002a Injector gaskets

Yes i got the cooling fins off all 4 of mine. Gotta clean them up a bit from what i remember. A slight buildup of carbon and they get tight. If your are really tight just heat the fins with a torch and work them back and forth to loosen them up.

    MEP-002a Injector gaskets

Yeah harley it looks like that other one you have goes inside the injector itself. Under the main cap.
