    Breakfast at 57th Fighter Group

Don't let it get to you. There's a lot of reasons. Fuel cost a lot; people have crazy work schedules; family commitments. Ask me how I know. I know I also do handgun combat training and drills and I'm an active lifetime member of the FJCruiser forum. In other words, I have a lot of other...

    Breakfast at 57th Fighter Group

The weather forecast is still calling for high 60's and sunny. It should be a really nice day for it. I might even take the top off. I'm really looking forward to it. I plan on spending some time on Saturday getting the truck ready and we'll see you there.

    never seize on glowplugs

What about copper grease? It withstands very high temperatures (900 degrees C), and it's conductive. I use it as anti-seize on threaded hardware and as an anti-corrosive on electrical connections. I've not had a problem with it over many years of use.

No need to go that far off route. I'll head out from canton and meet you guys at the 57th FG. Anyone from Canton/Cartersville/Woodstock vicinity is welcome to join up with me. I plan to take 140 over to Roswell and then down to Clairmont Rd from there. It's the route I used last year and it...

    New fuel return lines.

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

I figured out a few things about the fittings for the fuel return lines today. I had ordered a bunch of stuff from McMaster-Carr and I ran into a few problems when installing the new fuel lines this morning. As usual when it comes to plumbing, a 3/8" sleeve isn't necessarily the 3/8" sleeve...

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

I had planned to post a video of the lug wrench in action but I've been called in to work. Maybe tomorrow. I did manage to get about half of my fuel return lines changed out. The 1/4" lines for the injectors are pretty simple and quick. The 3/8" lines between the fuel filters and the IP will...

Details on the lug wrench: You can find them on eBay from several vendors, or you can send an email to pemmer@gmail.com. I received fast and trouble free service from sending an email and paying with PayPal. I think it arrived in 3 days via USPS. It was $150 including several big sockets...

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

Imagine a very simple task like threading a medium sized nut onto a matching bolt. To accomplish that seemingly simple task while working on a deuce, it requires threading that nut one-handed, with only the tips of two fingers while standing on your head, balanced with you other hand, as...

    Riding the Draggin'

I like the paint scheme on your truck. Mine is 3-color camo but I'm thinking about repainting it like yours. Of course it might not look right back here in Georgia with all the green trees and red dirt.

    T-54 arrives!

That thing would really tick off my neighbors. I should get one.

Depending on what time you roll through, I'd like to convoy with you. I could join you at Exit 14 on I-575 if you're rolling straight down the interstate. If you're cutting across 140 to Roswell, I can meet you at the 140 exit.

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

I bought one of these 1:78 geared lug wrenches a few days ago. I had my doubts, but I tried it out on a couple of lugs on my deuce this evening and it worked like magic. The shop that did my tire change must have used a King Kong impact wrench. My 1" pneumatic impact wrench wouldn't even begin...

I love McMaster-Carr! I ordered this stuff yesterday and it shows up at my office this morning. Can't wait to get out there and replace my leaky fuel return lines tomorrow. Except, that its supposed to be in the 30's and snow flurries in the morning.

Very cool. That sounds like a lifestyle I could learn to love. I find myself at a place in my life where I realize just how enslaved I've become to chasing paychecks that there is hardly any freedom left to pursue my dreams. It sounds like you're living my dream. Live it well my friend. ...

So I was trying to figure out a clean way to paste in the parts list for the fuel return line tubing and fittings, and the above post was about all I could figure out. Thanks to Heavysteven for the original list of parts and pieces. He had posted the part numbers some time back in another...

I'll have to replace the parts list table after I make a few corrections that I figured out today.

Clinto, I hope you and Dawn can make it but if you can't, we'll see you at Zout's. If we miss you there, we'll start having SSGR in your back yard again. PB, I quit my job every day but somehow I end up back there again every stinking morning. glcaines, I hope you can make it this year. I...

    Breakfast at 57th Fighter Group

A few of us got together last year for breakfast/brunch at The 57th Fighter Group Restaurant in Atlanta. We had a good time and it was an opportunity to meet some of the other SS members and check out the trucks. I'm planning to go back there on March 10 for another opportunity to invite you...
