Securing trucks for Civilian Usage - how to?

Right, they have locking handles for MANY applications. My HEMTT is secured by flush mounted paddle handles with barrel style keys and locks, plus a keyed ignition switch. Most of those expensive over the road trucks can be broken into with a 18" flat pry-bar . . . as can be my HEMTT. It is a...

12 volt accesorys on a 24 volt system

Mistaken is quite correct in his choice of names, he is mistaken on tapping ONE battery for a 12V load. DO NOT do it, it will unbalance the charge on each battery and lead to failure of both batteries. Wait a minute, I don't care, they are your batteies and you have to pay for new ones. :) He...

    Insane home Water/meth injection...

Many years ago Gale Banks Engineering offered a water injection kit for the twin turbocharged V-8 marine market. They had a relatively small pressure vessel (3 gallons if memory serves) with a sight glass for reading water level. They used boost pressure to pressurize the water tank and a...

    Who Bought Those Oshkosh MK-48s???

Maybe, maybe not, they have a small available space in the cab, especially because of the sloped back wall. At least that is the case in my HEMTT cab, it took some small air-ride seats and the back of the lower mounts needed to be cut off for clearance.

    Tacoma newbie checking in!

Welcome, you're VERY, VERY sick now. You'll spend all your money on green stuff and if you aren't careful, money you don't even have yet. Your yard will become a parking lot of all things military and wind up happy but poor. There is no cure

    Added a transfer switch yesterday

So Dan (AN/ARC186) came over yesterday and orchestrated the proper addition of a transfer switch to our home. When we loose power it commonly can strech for a week or more so plugging in a fridge and the one of the gas furnaces isn't quite enough. So early yesterday afternoon Dan and I started...

They get their stuff at the same refineries but each have their own additives per their individual specifications. The ones I know about around here are company stores, not owned by the locals.

M3A1 Stuart Tank At The Arco Station and Subway

Around here it has always had the highest amount of alcohol of any leading brand. They were also notorious for not keeping up with the maintenance of occasionally pumping the water out of the bottom of their tanks. A local one here had to eat some service bills but they didn't make it easy and...

    Overdrive for a Deuce???

Bigger tires seems like the best bang for the buck. I doubt the engine makes enough excess horsepower to warrant a proper overdrive unit.

Hey, I think they are AWESOME but I'm just passing the information that several different soldiers passed on to me. One admitted rolling his.

    Who Bought Those Oshkosh MK-48s???

Correct, after speaking with several drivers of these, there are certain conditions that these vehicles can be EXTREEMLY dangerous. Under certain conditions they have a tendency head off the road all on their own. After those discussions I removed them from my "wish list." That is until I get...

PNW-2012-Fourth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

So that is you Kyle, at least it appears to be. The tent striking went well, just a few minor snags but we can definitely strike one and bag it with only 2 people. We waited until Monday afternoon to strike it. Lifting the tent is another matter, we still used the crane to put it in the box...

    Show us your Military Trailers

M2 class 3 in Washington State? Don't be silly, they won't let us individuals go there, we are a solid BLUE state. It is a good dummy that will pass the 1 foot test for most, certainly not those seasoned with the weapon. We do have the Barrett M82A1M (aka M82A3) if we need to make noise with...
