    Inexpensive gun prop-M4

Mike, if I had asked, "can I buy them?", or for the money, the answer would be "NO". :cookoo:

    Inexpensive gun prop-M4

I used a different method. I just told the wife that the doors in the HEMTT would look so much better with guns in them, she drives it most of the time. Along comes my 50th birthday and she presents me a pair of M4's and a Barrett M82A3 (USMC spec. M82A1). Didn't cost me a thing and I...

    2nd alternator, 12V

Too much money, I got a new 100A of the latest generation for $100.

They sure can and are often grounded by their cases anyway. Exception: CUCV

    Tank Driving Business?

As stated earlier, Scorpion tanks are very tight, and were crewed with people at about 5'7" maximum. I'm 6'2" and I cannot run buttoned up. As also stated above, the transmission has to be treated nicely, they cost $120,000 (brand new transmission) a few years back. BTW a Scorpion IS a tank!

    LAV150 rework for Florida Sheriff

FINE work as always! Are vision blocks for the V100 still being made? If so, would you care to share who has them and how much they cost? I know there were companies in both Florida and Israel that specialized in such items. I'm not sure now. I'd kinda like to know how much to have saved up...

    Rubber Track Pads.

Nope, they went with the Duster to its new home.

    Rubber Track Pads.

Back when I had a M42A1 Duster, I ended up buying all the roadwheels, tracks sprockets and final drives from a M75 that had been cut off to make a failed tractor. It had all new pads on it.

    12 volt question...

No you can't do that. You have several easy choices by price: 1. 24-12V converter 2. Battery equalizer, it ALLOWS you to tap the battery closest to ground. It balances the load. 3. Dual output voltage alternator, HMMWV's often had these. Since there isn't a ton of room left under the...

Thanks Bjorn but that is the American Scorpion, not the Limey one

    Scorpion

I use an '08 F450, the H1 is too light for sure! Hauling one with a deuce would be a bad idea as well, by the time you add a trailer you'd be WAY in excess of TWICE of the deuces tow rating. My truck is rated to tow 24,500 and I exceed that with my very heavy trailer and the Scorpion.

    Scorpion

Alan, I'm talking about prices on the OTHER side of the pond, not the prices here. Prices of them here are certainly at a premium. I wouldn't sell mine for $100K, but then again it is one of my favorite toys.

    Scorpion

I'd expect for one barely acceptable to cost at least $20,000 US. A pristine one probably twice that. Shipping would best be accomplished inside a 20' container, that way spare parts could come too. Also, it keeps the poor baby out of the hands of some union thugs at the RO-RO terminal, been...

    Scorpion

I would say from a standpoint of cost, it would be better to get an entirely refurbished unit to begin with. I have a wonderful supplier across the pond that did a full rebuild for me. That way I only have to MAINTAIN the vehicle and the bleeding is minimized to maintenance items and tracks...

Proud HMMWV M998 Owner At Last !!!

Every time my wife and I were over in the UK (I married a Limey), we wished we had our '93 Hummer, just to be difficult rofl Your country lanes tend to be VERY narrow, even for a Mondeo TD we liked to rent. Enjoy your new baby!
