    Arlington, WA July 2012 Fly-In

Ellis, is that you Kyle? I thought it was a great success as well. After moving out yesterday, I'm still pooped but looking forward to next year. Jane an I proved you can take down and bag a Base-X 205, normally a 4 person affair, with just 2 people. Next, gotta prepare for makin' noise...

    Base X shelter won!

UPDATE: We just spent a week in the 205 shelter and it is AWESOME! At 14' x 25' it gave us a cooking and sleeping area. :jumpin:

PNW-2012-Fourth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Sorry no, we just got our last load home from Arlington at 8PM tonight, there is just no way we will be ready in time.

    Show us your Military Trailers

John, I've only towed it around on the grass for now but it tracks well and doesn't cut inside the truck as much as I thought. The turning radius of the truck is average for its size and the trailer doesn't seem to mind following along at full lock. We haven't measured the length yet but we...

    Show us your Military Trailers

We just got our M989A1 HEMAT back from having it made pretty again. Then it went on display at the Arlington Fly-In this last week. The HEMTT had a good week, a new trailer to pull and new M4 Carbines for the doors :jumpin:

Looking for Oshkosh HEMTT or 10-ton

You can find them from time to time but be prepared to spend $70+ for a good one.

OK kids, just follow the signs and follow the cones behind the B17. Continue south through the field and take a left across the taxiway to our area. Please stop before crossing ANY taxiways, the aircraft have the right of way. We have a count of about 50 MVs, 5 warbirds, and one PBR river...

Got the tank loaded and we are heading up there in a few hours to stay for the duration. We hope to see a lot of you there! :jumpin: :jumpin: :cookoo:

    1500 max rpm? nhc 250

No, it simply appears that your governor is set VERY low. Governors with that low of a setting are typically used for ground power applications: generators, water pumps and other uses where longevity and fuel burn rate is a determining factor (engine kept near the torque peak for best fuel...

    1500 max rpm? nhc 250

He said it all right there. Only the injection pump can limit the engine RPM under ANY load. No other problem will limit the truck to 1500 rpm in 1st and 5th, he just doesn't want to listen since he knows it all. I hear he worked on a boat once. :cookoo:

PNW-2012-Fourth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Edit: I guess while I was doing a hunt and peck on my keyboard, I was beaten to the punch! Sorry to thread jack but are any people coming to the Arlington Fly-In? We have started to move in and will be sleeping there for the next week starting today. We took a good load up yesterday and...

    1500 max rpm? nhc 250

 Yes I just did mine, 50Hz to 60Hz! But a generator pump isn't the same as a vehicle pump. If you have the wrong pump it won't work the same. Since you know everything, please leave the rest of us on SS out of it.

    1500 max rpm? nhc 250

The another possibility is a bit more likely, you have the pump from a 50Hz generator Diesel engine. 1500 RPM would be the correct RPM for a Diesel engine turning a 4 pole head for 50Hz. For 60Hz you use 1800 RPM.

Safe to pull 12v from one battery of the four in M820?

Nope, you can parallel any size of battery of the same voltage rating and each will accept its own charge INDEPENDENTLY. It's when you put them in series is where the trouble starts. That is why you always replace batteries wired in series together in pairs. In a parallel configuration it...

Safe to pull 12v from one battery of the four in M820?

You can do it but you WILL BE shortening the life of your batteries, all of them. You said the key yourself, imbalance.

    Arlington, WA July 2012 Fly-In

See you in the morning Jeff, we will be bringing up the loaded HEMTT and a trailer full of accessories, ATV and its little trailer. The Scorpion will follow on Sunday and we will pick up our refurbished HEMAT artilery trailer on Monday from the Smiley's. Due to injuries we will just be...

Surprise while driving HMMWV back from DLA

VERY typical for early HMMWV's with the older style hubs, the first few civilian ones in 1992-93 had this occur at speeds over 60 mph. The civilian ones all got new upgraded hubs after that. They couldn't upgrade the mil-spec. units right away as the new hubs weren't built to the specification...

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

If I'm not mistaken, this might be one too. We added a quad 50 and made it a gun truck.
