Trucks Needed: High Point State Park, NJ May 31st, 2 p.m. "Salute to Veterans"

Update: MVs are cancelled. For the times of the ceremony, forecasts are around 85% for thunderstorms, so it’s very likely that the program will be moved indoors to the Elks. For anyone interested in attending anyway, here is a recent bulletin...

    The 'Pinking' of Green Paint

This just popped up on another thread where Aervoe 24087 turned pink, so I have an excuse to post this. My truck was Aervoe 383 when I got it and it was distinctly pink-ish. So was another freshly surplussed Air Force Deuce. It's popped up here with other paints that claim they're mil-spec...

    New member hello from NJ

"...by the end of the week I'll be able to take him for a ride..." Excellent! Weather permitting, why not take him for a ride over to High Point for the ceremony at 2 p.m. and treat him to dinner afterwards...

    Show us your Military Trailers

His might be longer but if you search the unmentionable auction site for "7.5' PAIR PLATED ALUMINUM ARCHED MOTORCYCLE ATV UTV TRUCK FOLDING LOADING RAMPS" you'll find a very good set rated at 1,500 lbs. I have them and they've served well for everything from [big] snowblower transport to...

Franklin Borough NJ Memorial Day Parade 5/25/15

I've been trying to figure out how to participate, but I can't figure out how I can get back to Wyckoff for an 11:30 standby commitment. If I'm not called, I'll be up. I love to drive the Deuce on Route 23. Is your truck the 5 ton with the box close to Sit 'n Chat? It would be very welcome...

Parking Brake Cable Adjusting Thread Specs Needed

Rusty pretty much nailed my primary question with the specs and Woodsplinter has already done what I had in mind if I can't get the correct nut. There's no way to pre-measure the nut position when there's no nut, so Rusty's positioning method seems like a good place to start on the way to...

Trucks Needed: High Point State Park, NJ May 31st, 2 p.m. "Salute to Veterans"

Trucks Needed: High Point State Park, NJ May 31st, 2 p.m. "Salute to Veterans" Each year, on the traditional Memorial Day weekend, the Sussex Elks sponsors a "Salute to Veterans" at the foot of the monument at High Point State Park, the highest point in NJ. From there you can see 3 states...

Parking Brake Cable Adjusting Thread Specs Needed

I need to replace the nut (2) on transfer case end end of the parking brake cable. I know the TM shows a unique nut but I'd like to try to replace it with something fairly standard. None from my odd collection fit. Can someone provide the size and thread pitch (1)? Also, the TM suggests...

Yes, it did. Pays to take your old one along though and match it up, just to be sure. I've read that some of them had used other threads. Steve

I'm curious to hear the results from the checks provided above. Might be a good idea to visit the Aberdeen thread and announce you'd like to meet up with somebody down there to talk M37 rehab in person. Steve

M925A2 painted solid color doesn't look like CARC 383

Modern flat spray paint doesn't get flat until it cures . . . Perhaps a couple of weeks. Besides, most CARC is rough so that flattens it more. Steve

M925A2 painted solid color doesn't look like CARC 383

Looks like 383 to me. Allowing for weathering, curing and aging, I'm guessing your hood spot is right. Touchup rarely matches like auto shop paint. Only choice is to take a part for a color match. Steve
