If you bought the truck for scrap and can get a used pump/HH you're still going to come out well ahead. I bought a take-off IP/HH from Boyce for $150 and used parts from it on my deuce to fix a fuel issue. They may still be willing to sell them at that price, which makes it a pretty cheap fix.
Took the deuce out and stretched his legs a little finally. It turns out replacing the injector lines made a pretty big difference in how the truck drives and performs.
I let a buddy drive for the first time, it was fun (and a little nerve wracking) to watch......
New injector lines! Finally took care of a leak that started small and has been steadily growing. Now I need to figure out why I have fuel behind my fuel shut-off cover :(
Sure do, headed there on tues in fact ;-). I'm always looking for other places to offroad my duece though, if you know of any in the area......
Not a lot of dueces in these parts, where are you located?
I don't get to use low anywhere near as often as I would like. Occasionally when at the off-road park is about it, or when heading up/down a large loose gravel hill at a buddies house so I don't spin my tires.
Gonna' have to try the reverse trick though - tks for that [thumbzup]
I just replaced a race today and was wondering myself what the difference is between the bearings that they have different part numbers but use the same race.
Also, I have read several posts on flipping hubs, and don't think I saw a single person mention how they moved their bearings as well...

I bought mine in UT and drove it to CA, including onto a base to pickup an M105 trailer. After doing considerable research I found it was LEGAL to drive it in CA as long as I was 1) insured, and 2) it was within 30 days of the purchase.
I was pulled over by an LEO who was fairly adversarial...
I built them out of some 3/8" walled square tubing I bought as scrap. I think I paid $10-15 for a 3' length piece of tubing and that did all 4 of my mounts.
I cut them to shape with a chop saw and drilled them with the bench press. It worked fabulously, and was dirt cheap.
Lots of posts on this, but I did my bob as inexpensively as I safely could. I used the following:
1) the M105 trailer (bed, shocks and suspension)
2) about 2' of 1/4" square tubing (two different sizes - one for shock mounts and the other for lift blocks for the rear axle)
3) I lengthened my...
My brakes started squeaking last week, so I figured it was time to adjust them. I was surprised by a couple of things:
that the truck was even able to stop with how out-of-adjustment they were - in a couple of places where I should have had a .010" gap to the drum, I actually had closer to .2"...
FYI - using search after winning my first GL item I found a thread that listed step-by-step all the 'correct' answers to put in the EUC. I filled it out according to those instructions and it greased right through - no corrections or clarifications required.
I filled it out with EXACTLY what...
I took nothing but a can of WD-40 and a few simple hand tools on my 200 mile M105 recovery and got lucky. Air brakes worked, lights worked, and the wheels spun freely and held air just fine.
Those are the items you need to function to get it home. Sounds like you know everything you should...
I've been out of town for a couple of months, but finally got back to work on the truck. Accordingly there was a lot of pent-up need to get stuff done, so he had a good week ;-)
re-stuffed the passenger seat. I was not surprised to find once the canvas was off the only thing left was a bit...
Degreased and pressure-washed the engine today, and adjusted the e-brake. Still need to fix the soft-top and make a run to the dump. Not in that order.....
I called a site once to try and get a 1-day extension and was turned down. Sounds like it is very site-specific.
I know it's no help to the OP at this point, best of luck with your issue.
Definitely resurface the flywheel. You have a couple of grooves towards the outer edge that look like they need to be turned. Anytime I install a new clutch plate I resurface, kind of like pads and rotors ;-)
My bro had this same dilemma on a toyota truck and elected to change his rear main...
One other item to consider: I had an old landcruiser that did this exact same thing. It would usually run just fine, but every once in a while the temp would suddenly spike up crazy-high (like redline in seconds and cause me to do a panic pull over) and then the next drive it would be just...
