Need alittle help with 12V add ons and the m35

I did all the research and decided the 12v alt was the way to go. I liked the isolation from my 24v power - so even if I totally drain the battery or something catostrophic happens to my 12v power, my truck can still start itself up and drive home. Also, be honest about what you want to do -...

    M105 Wiring Harness Makeup

Cheers Rosco - you answered both my questions, I appreciate it. Now tomorrow I can get started building the converter box and taking advantage of my newly installed 12v power ;-)

    M105 Wiring Harness Makeup

I have an M105 wiring harness I am about to cut into to create a converter box for my deuce. My question is: is the main rubber line a sheath around individually wrapped wires, or is it one thick piece of cast rubber with the wires running inside? Inquiring about the part that is circled...

I'm shure another brake fluid question

Personally, I wouldn't use brake fluid with any chunks, flakes, bits or particles in it of any kind. Especially on something the size of a deuce, and with single circuit brakes. These brakes have been known to function even when in horrible condition, but I wouldn't handicap the system from...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That looks good! I'm getting ready to do something similar.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

When I measured for the new gauge location, I realized the center would be right in the middle of the existing hole for the high beam indicator. So I tack-welded a piece of thin plate steel to the back of the panel (putting 2 tacks, one on each side of the existing high-beam hole since I knew I...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I had another productive weekend. Before and after pic's of the work. After that I took the truck to the local OHV park and let a buddy play for a while in the dirt, and then swung by HD and picked up a pallet of pellets. It's gratifying how much other folks love the truck.

    Weight of M35A2 transmission?

Theres nothing funny about it. It's just gross. No idea where you dig these things up gimp, but your avatar pic's almost always make me shudder...... To the OP: I've manhandled the deuce tranny around by myself, and I'm not a big guy. Not sure I could have picked it up off the ground alone...

flipping hubs, are these all the seals I need?

I found that if I put the nuts back on and gave the studs a good whack with a brass/steel hammer they came out. It took some work though. If I would have had access to a press, I would have used it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

New passenger side inner axle seal! I removed the nasty congealed snot mixture from the knuckle, cleaned it up and installed the new seal. I also chased all the threads on the knuckle, probably should have done that a long time ago, those weren't in great shape. I got a belt and got the 12v...

    Bob Deuce extended drive shaft?

I've done both, lengthened my own (for a Landcruiser) and had my deuce shaft professionally lengthened. It was cheaper to do my own (but not substantially) and was an all day activity complete with quite a bit of stress, a lot of whacking it with a hammer and doing things 2-3 times to make sure...

    Deuce workout

I have aspirations to one day make my bobbed deuce squat under a load. The closest I've come so far was hauling a load of scrap steel, 3000 lbs and no significant squatting. Sigh, some day. And to the OP, well done ;-)

    Cutting frame on a bob

Sorry man - I have been able to get mine to work the few times I've needed the pintle. It's been functional enough I haven't worked up the determination to tear the whole thing apart and redo it. Some day, when I don't have more critical projects - and I have more time than chores. Sigh......

    Any Regrets Bobbing Your Deuce?

Zero regrets for having done it. I bought mine with the intention to bob it from day one. I purchased an M105 and picked it up on the way home from my truck recovery. After the ~750 mile recovery drive I briefly considered keeping it stock since it was surprisingly driveable and the 12' bed...

    Cutting frame on a bob

Tin - you may want to check your rear x-member. It looks upside down. I didn't realize the pintle wasn't centered vertically until after I had the whole thing reassembled and the bed on it and found I had some interference between the top of the pintle and a support on the bed aua. It could be...

    12v alt wiring diagram

I have the Delco 10si. I believe that's a 1-wire type, but it has a connection point for 'switched power'? That's how it's labeled on the alternator chassis.

    12v alt wiring diagram

Tks Jonathan. I can easily wire in a ground on the voltmeter, appreciate the feedback.

    12v alt wiring diagram

I spent some time on search this morning and found some threads where folks DID what I want to do, but no one specifically mentioned HOW. I am wiring up the 12v alt in my truck, and want to run it with a switched energized wire from a 24v relay, include a fuse box and a 12v voltmeter. I drew...

    injector pump leaking with pics

I had that exact same leak - it started very small (puffing fuel vapor) and within about 30mins it was a steady stream of fuel and my truck wouldn't run. I tried removing, cleaning and retightening to spec (as recommended by many folks on the site) with no love. Ultimately I replaced it with...
