    M989a1 trailer Davit

I have gone to the farm and picked up the manual, scanned a few pages that show how the davit is used to lift the tow bar and scanned the title page with the NSN. There is a section that shows a method of lifting and holding the bar with one of the included cargo straps by attaching the strap...

    M989a1 trailer Davit

The lot we bid on ran from $1170 up plus buy fees and sales tax. We did not get the cheapest one by far, but it is like new and I don't think it was ever really put in service. All the "come's with" equipment was still wrapped in plastic and new tags. I have seen M101a2's go for more money in a...

    M989a1 trailer Davit

Yes, that davit looks like what is depicted in the line drawing. The trailer is awesome, but not as awesome as the HEMTT. I just don't have the funds to plunge for a HEMTT yet no matter how awesome I think they are. My son and I are talking about trying to pick up another HEMAT while auction...

    M989a1 trailer Davit

I think it would be the same davit, but I am a weak old man and I can lift the tow bar in place all by myself. That said, there is a loop welded to the tow bar in the right location that would allow a lift attachment. I am trying to remember the details of the davit description in the accessory...

    M989a1 trailer Davit

No, it is just a line drawing in the manual. There is a pocket at the front platform of the trailer that is about 2" in diamater and the Davit fits in the pocket. It looks like a two piece mast with a twist lock to keep it together and then the bow over for the arm with the cable pulley. It is...

    M989a1 trailer Davit

I discovered the M989a1 HEMAT has a Davit option when I was reading the nice new manual that was in the tool box. I don't think I have ever seen one floating around on surplus, but it would be nice to add to our trailer. Does any one have a clue as to a source for the military Davit? We also...

Ok which one of you was it with this Bell UH1?

We just measured one of these to see if we could move it and we had to pass as the rotor mast (skid on the ground) was over the max height for our state. Those are some big paddles compared to most civi helo's.

    MB 18 genset info

Yea, and verily I say unto you that I have been on a steady date for lo these many years. That and I know which side of my bread is buttered and I have managed to make sure it always stayed sticky side up. ~~~ Talked to Jollyroger briefly and he said it was a good day. ~~~ Did he tell you the...

    MB 18 genset info

I have hit the site and read some threads ~~~ learned the MB 18 was probably an Air Force Genset from the late 60's early 70's ~~ What is required to post on that site? It appears I would have to join or become a member to ask questions???

    MB 18 genset info

We just picked up an MB 18 generator and my SS site search does not find anything on this generator. It is a 30 KW that looks somewhat similiar to an MEP005. Anyone know where I could look for information (operators manual etc.) ~~~ Also picked up a GCC-300-W welder and it too does not appear...

    removing the governor?

Blizzard warrior 7, I forgot you had the shift kit. That said, you can swap to several civilian carbs that will improve power. The transmission is a GMC Hydromatic, which during that time frame was a Cadillac, Olds, Pontiac bolt pattern. (Not CHEVY) At that time, the bell housings were...

Safety note received. ~~ This model of trailer has a short steerable tow bar that includes a drop stop which keeps the bar from hitting the ground. The safety chains are too short to cross under the tow bar. In fact, the connection pig tail is short as are the air hoses. The air hoses are just...

We put it to use the next day after we got it home, hauling a 30KW generator and some compressors and a welder we are adding to our collection of military stuff. We think besides hauling our stuff, we will use it as a parade trailer. We have some waiting room seats that are tied together back to...

    removing the governor?

Gunfreak is working on a 6.2 diesel conversion for his M220/211. I am very interested in his project as it would seem to me it would be some improvement in power without too much risk of ripping out the driveline because too much power. (When I was much younger, I swapped my straight 8 Olds...

    removing the governor?

Consider the relationship of the carb governor and the gas linkage adjustments that are critical to transmission shift points on the GMC 302/Hydramatic dual range. There is information on this in the TM's. You can get some performance improvments with a civilian carb, but you are still moving 13...
