Most folks trim their fenders only as a last resort to use bigger tires. That's a good reason to go with a 6" Just my opinion though.. With my 5" lift I did not have to do anything with the drive shafts, even when moving the axles. I did not have to shim anything or change angles and there is...
Don't worry about axle strength. That folks with civilian trucks try very hard to duplicate these trucks! I would go with a 6" if you are worried about clearance at all. I chose a 4" lift using front springs and a rear shackle flip, then an extra inch by using zero rates for a 5" total. If you...
Let's see 'em!
Here's my $40 4 color camo job. Eventually I want to have the truck sprayed a solid drab, but I had to do something. My truck looked like a practice truck for military paint.
Welcome! ChevyCUCV, you've had your truck to 80 in stock form? I've never gone over 55 in mine for the most part. One time it was getting dark and my headlamps quit with a long ways to go. Got it up to 60 and i was not comfortable with it for that amount of time.
Wow, with 3.08s and 37s it would seem that the engine would just about be at idle speed at 50 mph. :) Try driving an M1008 with 4.56s 50 mph and you will really appreciate what you have... :?
Well the lift is on, brakes are done, and it drives and stops nicely. Still has the completely stock steering including the pitman arm. I got the steering wheel to center and it drives fine. The steering joints are just butted up against each other inside the adjusting sleeve. Turning radius...
They show up on eBay quite often. Both of mine were missing when I got the truck. If you deliver those tires to me you can have them plus I'll buy you a beer.
Well, I'll eat my words when I need to. Good, quick service from ORD. A replacement hose is on it's way! Hopefully my bad luck with them is over.
Well it looks like the ORD hose block is indeed the culprit. Pulled it apart again this morning and inspected things with a magnifying glass and a light. I can't see any issues. Put it back together and the right side STILL leaked! As a last ditch effort to figure it out, I flipped the hose...
Copper washers are on the front hoses not the rear. I'd find it hard to believe the soft brake line flare would damage the steel cone in the block but I'm going to pull it apart one last time tomorrow to check. Anything's possible but the original block was soft brass, this one's steel. Just...
Anyone else have issues with the block end of the ORD rear brake hose leaking? All of my brake lines and bleeders loosened easily during replacement and it was an easy job but I can't seem to stop the fluid leak where the rear axle lines hook into the rear hose block at the bracket on the diff...
