This was a long time ago, but when I was trying to set up the top on my M1008 I remember
having some M880 parts in the mix, and had to do a bunch of mods. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I do remember it was a pain in the rear.
Hope this helps.
Here is the HF coupon for the borescope. It appears to be current.
Only $69.99 with coupon 38904696
Let me know if you need me to mail you the coupon they mailed me.

Is there a tool that makes the rounded type flare similar to the original flare on the end of the original fuel lines? I ask, because when you make a brake line flare it seems that the edge of the
flare is not very round and I am concerned that it will eat thru the rubber.
Here is an idea, but I can't guarantee anything. Take both starters to your workbench.
See if you can flip one over and match up the holes. use a scribe and scribe the new one
thru the holes of the old one. Then you need to see if it is both holes that are too close or
far apart. Or one of the...
I would examine the filter and check to see if what is cloging the filter is
rust particles. If it is, then my guess would be that the fuel lines are
rusting out. You will probably have to find someone to make the replacement lines.
I think someone on here just had someone make him some. Maybe...
I suspect that the 90 deg bend is for the M1010 add on piece. I agree that
it should be cut off and debured. I would slip a long amount of rubber tubing on
the cutoff end and secure with multiple clamps. Also do what is necessary to avoid kinks
as outlined above.
Just a note to add to the spin on filter upgrade.
Be sure to tighten the little bleed screw on the front of the filter base.
I think I may not have closed it tight enough and air leaked in.
It is tight now, but since it is plastic, I didn't want to over tighten it.
I am still not positive this...
Maybe the reasoning behind the advice is flawed, but just bleeding the #2 line clearewd the problem right up. Maybe I just got lucky and bleeding any line would do the same thing,
But I have a feeling there is more to this than line length.
Well, I am happy with the results, regardless of the...
I would like to thank Iceman3005 for the following excellent advice, which
was spot on.
"#2 fuel line is the shortest one, I have noticed if you try to bleed the rear fuel lines it creates an air lock in the shorter ones, this is just my oberservation so far. I should also mention I have...
I have a rebuilt by Standyne 6.5L IP and I want to
know what problems, adjustments, etc. I will have
installing it on my M1008 if my IP dies.
I got this years ago from E. Pantano in Colorado and although it was rebuilt by Standyne, I am wondering
whether there will be shelf life age problems...
I searched in the TM's but couldn't find a
diagram of the cylinder layout. Starting with driver side
forward position can you tell me the cylinder numbers
please. I need to be able to locate injector #1 etc.
Thanks

In reference to putting in a plate instead of leaving the mechanical pump in place.
I agree that running the mechanical pump dry, would be a bad idea in view of
failure and possible oil loss etc. Why not just remove the pin that activates the pump?
Put the pin in a piece of hose and then secure...
Just a note to this old thread. When I did the doghead relay upgrade, I just used an old relay as a connector to plug the new relay in. ie; I gutted the old relay and soldered wires to the pins, then put a hole and a gromet in the shell for the wires going to the new relay. I mounted the new...
I have the metal one. Any suggestions on how to mothball it? I figure a couple of drops of
light weight oil in the intake port and then seal off the two ports. Any pointers to rebuild kits or TM's that cover this procedure?
Thanks!
I am looking for the manual that has information
on pmc's and possibly rebuild info on the air type wiper
motor used on the M54A2.
All I have been able to find is the remove and replace
info in the TM's and I thought I had all the TM's.
I just got a spare take out and I want to PM and mothball...
