Use steel plate, but cut a wide kerf under each end of the plate in the wood block so you can thread a large zip tie under it and secure a scrap piece of plywood to the top of the steel plate. Some weld spatter on top of the steel plate would help to keep the plywood from slipping.

You should have at least one cable that goes from the set to the CUCV plug in the truck. You should have a tray of fittings. I am assuming this came in a large metal case with foam packing , cables, fittings, etc. See pictures above a couple of posts back. One place where you may have a problem...

Hey dependable, Which return line kit on Mercedessource did you get for your 6.2? I noted that they said that the braided lines would eventually rot and leak. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Bruce

Just a guess, but you might check your steering gear pump oil and see if it is the same color and consistancy.
