I am also sorry to hear about the merchandise problem! That is the first I have
heard of that happening at TP. Thanks again for bringing my pressure bleeder.

It's under the dash. It is in a black plastic box which is probably dangling down
from the cable that goes to that big circular connector mounted under the dash.
It is a small circuit board that fits in that case.
Just a thought here. Mount the winch below the bed to frame struts just to the rear of the end of the bed nearest the cab. Then have the cable come straight up at the
end of the bed for maybe 2 feet to a sheave mounted on a frame bolted to the bed.
This way you have the cable going directly to...
Forklift Flex
Does it count if you have pictures of the results where GL lifted the whole vehicle
with a forklift and left permanent markers where they flexed it?:???:
My XM211 had previous cal plates, but they were so old that they didn't have records of them. Go figure. They wanted the chp to do a vin check and since there wasn't any vin data plate, they agreed with me to use the serial number stamped into the frame which matched the dataplate on the dash.

google cannon extraction tool. If you are only doing a few, all you need is the cheap ones. If you are careful, they will last. Obviously you need to get the size that fits your connector, and there are a lot of sizes.

Registered it as a historical vehicle. No problems. You may need to have a
vin inspection by the CHP. Since these don't have vin stickers, be able to show them
the serial number that is stamped into the frame. I think it is near the front driver side wheel. You may need to do some wire brushing...
Personaly I would look into a brakesmart system. They use a sensor that taps off of your brake line. Yes it is more expensive, but I believe it is worth the extra money if you have an air over hydraulic system as opposed to an air brake system. My buddy
installed one of their systems on my M54A2...
As much as I would like for these new folks to have a forum for themselves,
and leave the 5 Ton forum that was started for the M39 series trucks 8 years ago,
I can appreciate the hassle it would be to make the changes, so let's just be good
folks and let them share our forum with us. I figure...
I've been looking in the TMs but I can't seem to identify the part number for the
metal post that separates the vent window from the side window.
Mine is rusting away and I need to replace it. I have all the other channel parts and rubbers, but not that main metal post.
Any help would be...
This is really strange. I started this thread. Chris was nice enough to
establish the 5 Ton Forum I requested. I certainly don't mind sharing
the Forum with these new people. I do feel bad for them seeing as us old folks
have the best trucks.....Just kidding.
Patracy makes a good point...
