    Red's deuce/camper project

My shelter didn't have a skid under it when I got it so I'm building one. I've got some 4" I-beam that I'm building the runners out of. I'll attach my pull point to that.

    S-280 camper build

Gimpy, I'll try that test. I tend the think the bare AL would be cooler. I'll need to shoot the underside with the temp gun though. I'm not sure it would give a accurate reading shooting the top side. I've got some left over so I'll test it and see who is right.

    Red's deuce/camper project

I like your tail roller and winch setup. I'm thinking of doing the same with my S280. I'm going to make my tail roller removable though with receiver hitch tubes mounted on each side of the bed. That way I can remove the roller when not needed. I've also got a dump installed so unloading should...

    S-280 camper build

Well I got the roof finished. I used a sheet of thin AL (don't know the thickness but it's the same stuff that roof van trailers with). I formed the edges over the edge of the top, used a piece of 3/16" X 3/5" piece of AL flat bar, and installed monobolts through that. I think I'll have a leak...

    headed to Knob Creek KY

If that's so, it's happened before. A couple of years ago the bridge on the main road washed out and I think they had to cancel the whole thing.

    History of M35A2

David was working on a deuce book but as far as I know he has never finished it.

Strength of m105 trailer bows for roof top tent

If you can find some metal bows from a generator trailer, they may could be made to work. They are much stronger than the wooden M105 bows but still aren't strong enough for a huge amount of weight.

    M29/M29C. Worth the time?

My rule of thumb is, if it's free, get it. You'll be a little out of gas money doing the 1400 mile round trip but well worth it. Plus, we can make fun of you saying they would make cute little wheel chocks for Patracy's M114. :D

    M923A2 Doing 80 MPH!!

And I bet you wouldn't run over a thing the whole trip, until the end.

A neat trailer upgrade for my 3KW generator set

I've been thinking about building me a small trailer like that for my 003. It's on a M103 generator trailer at the moment but it's way more than it needs and takes up too much room.

    2.5 Locking hubs group buy

Is it possible, if you get enough commitments, to go directly to the manufacturer? http://www.avm.com.br/avm.htm

    S-280 camper build

I think I read somewhere 1400lb. I've a set of forks for my hoe and it's rated to pick up 3,000lb but I'm sure that rating is for something in the bucket. The center of weight is going to be a whole lot further out on the shelter. This is one problem I have unloading it at home. I've got...

    S-280 camper build

Yea, I knew it wouldn't fit between the fenders before I went after it. That's why I carried the timbers. I was going to borrow my uncle's gooseneck but he was using it so that either left the trailer I used, the deuce, or the tractor/trailer. I figured the tractor/trailer would be a little...

    S-280 camper build

Carnac, I seriously considered yours. This one came available locally so I took a chance. If I had been outbid I was going to try and get yours. The roof was a little surprise but you place your bid and take your chances. Has anybody tried this stuff-...

    S-280 camper build

No loads on the roof. I've even thought about Rhino lining but I'm unsure how well it will hold up. I'm still leaning toward the solid sheet of AL as that will be the most permanent fix. The rubber roof would be the easiest to install and it's free but as I said above, I don't know how I'd...

    S-280 camper build

I picked up a S-280 out of Ft Campbell with the intentions of turning it into a removable camper for the back of the deuce. I figured I'd start a build thread and try to document it here. I say try because most of my builds that I plan on starting a thread on, I end up getting busy with the work...

    939a0 designation debate

It's just a M939. Just like there isn't a M35A0, M38A0, or M151A0. Nobody adds the zero to these, why is it that people think it's ok for a M939 series?

    New GL policy warning

I don't wear a wedding ring for this reason. I didn't know they made rubber ones. I have seen people tattoo wedding rings on their finger. Gimpy, is this just some sites or all of them? I was at Ft. Campbell today and nothing was said of it. I wear work boots 99% of the time when I have shoes...

NATO fuel can in a Deuce fuel holder

In my experience, the Scepter cans don't fit all that well in the stock holder either. All the ones I have are a little too large on the bottom to fit into the holder well. They will work but you kind of have to wedge them in there.
