Being a certified crane operator myself, I've seen some wrecker owners do some crazy stuff. It only good part about it were they were light loads where there was a lot of safety factor (they about used it all up though). I've seen people try to drag stuff sideways with the swing and two block it...
I don't think you'd notice any hp gains on a 6.2.
There is one good thing electric fans are good for but I don't think most cucvs suffer from this. Some vehicles tend to run hot when easing around on the trail due to low air flow at slow speeds. A electric fan will help with this.
It's hard to find a Fuller short enough to fit between the bell and the t-case. Of course you can also move your t-case back but if you go too much you end up with driveline problems at full articulation of the front tandem.
I'm not saying it can't be done and a Fuller 9 or 10 speed would be...
You throw a Duramax and Allison in there and most of that will go out the window. The setup is pretty reliable but it isn't that easy to work on and parts are pretty pricey.
I'm not really trying to fool anybody. I'm just playing around with parts I had lying around and building close to what the military may have used if they stayed with the Jeep platform. That's one of the reasons I went with the three color camo, to differentiate it from a m38a1. Also, if anybody...
There are two ways to go about this. Either change out the single spool valve for a 2 spool or add a selector valve to send fluid to the winch valve or another valve that will operate the dump.
I assume you're talking about what we call a "becket" in the crane and rigging industry. If so, yes it would work great to get you back going in a pinch. You could even leave it on there for good but they are kind of bulky.
It's easy enough to do, you'll just need to buy a valve or two to get it to work.
There are also several ways to do it. Some good, some not so good.
If you don't know open center hyd system's theory of operation, you may want to look into it.
Yes, multiple loads. The pump that I'm wanting to use is already installed to run the dump bed.
The dump setup now goes from the pump to the spool valve that operates the scissor hoist. My preliminary plan was to tap into the existing spool via the power beyond port to run the winch. From the...
To all the hyd experts out there, a I need a way to limit the flow to the winch to 3.5gpm. Pump output is 15gpm.
I've been looking at this valve http://www.baileynet.com/Pressure-Compensated-Flow-Control-Valves . It seems to be the most inexpensive way to accomplish this but wanted to see what...
Well the winch is here.
Now to figure out how to plumb it and wire it (I assume that info will be in the HMMWV manuals). From what little research I've already done, I know I'm going to need a flow divider and relief valve. My pump currently puts out 15gpm and 2,500psi. The winch is rated for...
Aluminum to steel isn't a good combination. Then add all the dirt and grime that gets in there. I've seen some that were really tough to get out and when you did you weren't left with much.
I haven't made it home yet but the wife said FedEx delivered a heavy crate today so I guess my winch came in.
I had thought about some "C" channel to lay in the floor of the bed but I'm not really sure it's needed. No more than I'll load/unload it I doubt there will be much wear and tear to the...
Not near heavy enough (they are made of rubber) and the roller needs to cover the entire width of the bed.
Here is a little different load and a much larger truck be the process is the same.
