The brakes do not need air to be moved. I hope you have read the the countless threads about trailer recovery with civi trucks. Pintle height can be a big issue. Don't forget your tow lights.

You should not have to replace the hub unless it had something wrong like a damaged bore. Press or knock the studs out to remove the rotor. When you install a new rotor make sure the mating surfaces are spotless! Just a little bit of rust or dirt will lead to rotor runout and pulsing brakes.

How do you blow though a carb? It would blow all the fuel out of the bowl vent! All I've seen have been drawn though or the carb was mounted in a sealed box. Just curious.

If you look at the pics I posted of my bobber with stock front deuce springs in the rear, You'll see what happens when too much weight is behind the rear axle. Keep with a longer wheelbase and let the front springs help...
If yours is like mine, getting the old rope seal out was the big task. Putting the new one in did not require a tool just lube and patience. Debur the edge of the groove or you can cut the new seal sliding it in!
