    HEMTT Update

I'd dearly love to have the MLRS pods for display but we are making due with the pods for the 2.75" rockets. At least this way we have room to haul our "stuff" too. Perhaps some day I'll have the proper trailer as well, I know they are out there for a reasonable price. Problem is I need to...

What is a HEMTT really worth?

Absolutely, and then you slowly make it nicer as funds permit. [thumbzup]

What is a HEMTT really worth?

The website, armyjeeps.net had one for $85,000 other than that, I only bought mine 10 months ago.

Is a civilian allowed to own and posess an MK48 front unit?

Parts are easy, paying Oshkosh prices is HARD!

Is a civilian allowed to own and posess an MK48 front unit?

It could be done and you would need a viscous coupling so minor tire wear differences wouldn't have the trailer either pushing or pulling the tractor. LOTSA $$$$$$

Is a civilian allowed to own and posess an MK48 front unit?

Too bad you couldn't hook the driveline to the back differential, but the gear ratio would be wrong.

Is a civilian allowed to own and posess an MK48 front unit?

Last one I saw was pretty rough and rusty and at $50,000 it probably was a good buy. You WILL NOT get one cheap, as Frodo said, they are all going back for rebuild. The trailers you can get however.

How to remove a piston through the exhaust port

I saw an RD400 2-stroke mororcycle do that at night. He as going 75-80 mph and the sparks were 150-200' long. The piston lasted about 30 seconds . . .

    HEMTT Update

Even with the bottom of 'em 18' in the air I don't think they'd bounce too high. If they were inflated with wheels they would be scary as sh*t. Still, I was ready to dive under the outriggers!

    $55,000 quad cab bobbed Deuce

Darn near as expensive as my HEMTT. Looks like a beauty though, they should make those. [thumbzup]

Turning master switch off while running.

Since your alternator is out, it's fine, but if you had a good alternator I wouldn't do it, a battery acts like a nice spike filter and dampens over-voltage spikes.

Put a Jake on yours, they work well on the Cummins unlike the one on my Detroit.

Moving her under her own power is best, if it can be done safely. Towing at cost of fuel and tolls/ferries isn't cheap by any means. Just understand I can't go at a moments notice. I still have 4000 lbs of 16.00-20's on the trailer at the moment. I gotta go move them upstairs above the...

That is one ADDITIONAL ferry each way unless you take Deception Pass bridge. Edmonds Ferry doesn't go near Seattle.

Ferry rides are expensive, I just looked 'em up. Remember you gotta go both ways. Edmonds to Kingston is $103 each way. Taking the Whidby Is. route is $130 each way. Then there is fuel at 7 mpg. about $80 for the ferry routes, $160 plus a $10 toll for driving around via Tacoma.
