How many of these have you seen

They are amazingly cute in person, not much bigger than a large touring bike.

How many of these have you seen

4 cylinder water cooled Opel engine. You could drive one on the road but track wear would be a bitch. New track shoes are about $3500 FOB Europe. For a $60-100,000 vehicle you probably wouldn't want to risk it.

How many of these have you seen

My wife has ridden one, she wants one of those next.

    5 Ton therapy.......

Very similar to the trailer I haul my toys with behind my F450. I love the power dove tail, much nicer than ramps.

    nutserts and install tools

I agree the usual squeeze type rivet pullers are no good. I got one of these and it has no problems with 1/4-20 steel and stainless steel rivnuts. The directions suck but the tool works well and pulls them with ease. Do your adjustments carefully, it'll pull out the threads in aluminum ones...

    2010 PNW Mini - Rally

I'll probably have the Fox already loaded on the trailer but that needs even more room to turn than the HEMTT. My other stuff, nope, not gonna happen 'till the Arlington Airshow.

    2010 PNW Mini - Rally

That is the Sat before we do the 815 mile drive to the big MV meet at Tower Park. We will try to make it . . .

What is a HEMTT really worth?

It looks like the LVS that was for sale for $50K. Quite rusty and dirty but looks like it will clean up REAL nice with TLC. Congrats! nopics

    Soon to be broke!

Enjoy Daytona, I did my time there from 1984-88 while going to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University . . . I don't miss it. Without all the bugs it would be OK.

    HEMTT Wheel bolt torque value?

According to the HEMTT TM the correct torque for the bolts that connect the two wheel halves togetther is 450-500 ft.lb. You must understand this wheel is designed to have more than the weight of a deuce on it in offroad conditions. So pick a smaller number . . . At least you don't...

Wire feed welder (review I guess)

I'm a big big fan of the portable welders that run on 110V. Biting the bullet on a bigger welder was a no choice issue for me, some of my projects require I weld 3/8". A small portable would be awesome, I'll keep that one in mind, for $300.00 it sounds GREAT! One thing I haven't tried yet is...

Wire feed welder (review I guess)

Good point above! I use acetone to clean before welding, they use it in acetylene tanks so it shouldn't be a major health issue, plus I let it evaporate long before the welding process commences. Phosgene is BAD, it also is made when Halon (the fire retardant) is burned in a fire.

Wire feed welder (review I guess)

If you are using it a bit more and have the power available I HIGHLY recommend a Miller 212 Auto-Set and they make a 140 Auto-Set for 110V. If you are like me you are often welding multiple thicknesses on every project. Resetting amperage is no big deal but then you must refine the wire feed...

    Picking up an A3

One come-along won't get the job done, two MIGHT but there are going to be two guys with seriously aching muscles. I agree Nonot above, bring freshly charged batteries, and if you use either, use just a quick squirt. Oh yeah, check the oil, some people have found them drained of such.

    hemmit?? any for sale?

Wreckerman, to some degree I agree. Purchasing finished HEMTT's and armor is expensive. It has taken us 12 years to get what we have. Our HEMTT was twice as expensive as what the next valuble piece of equipment cost us with the exception of the V100. We got that in a trade for a M42 Duster...

    hemmit?? any for sale?

Methinks the price has already scared him away. Same with a guy who wanted a V-100 or another that wanted a tank. With the very good prices on Deuces it seems to lead some to believe that all the cool iron is valued at it's scrap weight value. :deadhorse:

    HEMTT Engine swap to 5-ton

Mine leaks a bit but doesn't burn any as I can tell. MUCH better than the 8V92 non-turbo that used to run that ate 1.5 gallons of oil every 500 miles. Other than startup, no smoke either. I must have small injectors . . . having an Detroit behind you is a nice thing, VERY quiet.

California MVCC Tower Park / Camp Delta

I wanted to bring the HEMTT, but that got vetoed, she wants her baby at this one. 8-)
