Always seems to be the fronts that burn out. I guess because no axle lube works into the bearings. My fronts where bad too. Glad you found it! I have bad pinions bearings also. Future project.

I wish I was at home to post a pic of my solution. I attached a switch to the brake arm. When it is depressed the switch turns on the brake lights. My hydraulic switch was brand new and I still had intermittent lights. Got tired of it.
Besides that, if GL let's you tow off the lot, it will have to be with a military tow bar. Need good tow lights and safety chains also. If the truck has dual circuit brakes they can still be fed into the airpacks it will just take more hose and a tee.
