Just to be clear. For the 116 you would use the hitch straight out of the top reciever tube? And is that set-up homemade?
On the other front I busted my rear today and got the fuel system cleaned up and the batteries in. Once I closed the drain on the one fuel filter it started up on the...
I'm not sure if they're working, I have to check them. The master cylinder is full of fluid but I didn't feel they were working right towing it. I found the hole too but can't see to the other side. Next on the list after I get it running.
I was thinking about the taller hitch maybe a deuce or...
Thanks, Derf. I was planning on borrowing a full size for the recovery but that fell through...I dont plan on towing it very much then only about 15 -20 miles at most. I will probably look for a different hitch to set it up higher.
Thanks...Just gotta get the fuel system cleaned up. It's got the ASK already is there more that can be done??? I would like to get it as quiet as possible.
I picked my 1992 MEP-002A mounted on a M116A2 from Mechanicsburg today. Process at the base went great. They set it right on my hitch with the forklift and a signature, walk around inspection and some lights I'm off.
About 20 minutes down the road I decide to pull in to a rest stop and check...
Duh...lol thanks for that never thought about them being related. Thanks for wanting to help too, I got a co-worker coming with me that was a mechanic so I should be set. I think he is more excited than I am...maybe because its not his $$$ LOL
I never thought about the ASK...thanks LOL. Yeah I got my tool load out ready to go. I have to go about 135 miles with it back to VA. I am going to look for U-Haul places near there just in case. The one thing I am having trouble with is finding info on the trailer in the TM's or a TM for...
Ratch Did you get to preview it? I wanted to try but didnt have time. I guess the biggest thing I'm worried about for the recovery is the brakes not working/locked up.
I think I just won one out of Mechanicsburg that ended yesteray. Says I 'm the high bidder but no invoice has shown up yet. It is a MEP-002A w/ ASK on a M116A2 with 5,373, hours on it. Got it for $1300. Cargo cover, trailer and generator looks good from pics on GL so we shall see. This is my...
I found this video on youtube the other day while looking into what it would take to add a dump bed to a deuce. I didnt know if you wanted it for your complilation. It is made the company producing the lift kit but had some good ideas.
Hello all. I live in the northern Shenandoah Valley of VA and joined the site about a month ago and have been lurking and reading all the great info. I wanted to get all the information I could before trying to fullfill a long time dream of owning a deuce.
Now I want one of everything LOL...
Even though I think the OP bailed I will put in my 2cents. I squirelled with a dept that had a deuce as a brush truck. It had an 1000 gal fuel oil tanker tank & frame set in the cargo bed a pump hooked to it and the equipment/hose put inthe bed around the tank...Bad set up top heavy, probably...
