Like mentioned previously, the LU-4 is the same for M37 or M715. They actually have a lot of M715 parts as well but the LU-4 parts can be looked up under the M37. Only the mounting brackets are different on the winch itself, all internal parts should be identical.
You can also get a lot of the parts though Vintage Power Wagons-- Your Source for Dodge Power Wagon Parts and Trucks! -- civilian military m 37, m-37 wc Dodge Power Wagon
Now that you have the grounds fixed you can gain a lot more power to the headlamps if you run relays on the high and low beam circuits that will take the load off the switch.
Unless it's an NOS civilian grille, I wouldn't expect any real money for it. With it being an unfinished, painted and modified military grille, it's next to worthless to anyone not working with an M880 series with the BO lamp kit. In good condition you might get $50 for it on a good day.
About the only real change in the lighting involved in swapping a '70s body on a '80s and later frame that I can think of is the tail and front signal lamps. Later tail lamps use bulb sockets that 1/4 turn in the lamp housing while the '70s style are hard wired to the housing. The plugs...
Kenny,
All Cummins powered 4WD Dodge trucks have either D61 or D61 front axle. The Cummins is a bit too much weight for a D44 to be reliable.
Matthew,
You would probably be time and trouble ahead to just swap the M887 body over to the W250's chassis if the frame is solid. That would save...
If you are still stripping this, you may want to post up over at RamchargerCentral if you haven't already.
As for the steering boxes themselves, all years from '72-'93 will swap but the design changed in '77 or so. '72-'77 used an old swing arm style steering setup like a semi that is commonly...
Boat anchor? What?!?! Lol. Admittedly the old industrial engines are not very powerful but they have tons of torque for a gas V8, work hard without overheating and generally have low compression so they will run on whatever watered-down gas is put in them. Of course anything from a 440...
I think I have seen a few of the larger HSTs in various stages of restoration on the web but I can't remember any that I have seen Stateside. I think all I have seen were on Milweb.net, for sale across The Pond.
That's just another page on the same site. If you click the "HOME" link, it will take you back to the site's homepage with the banner. Apparently the business was going South and the owner committed suicide and they closed the doors. Lots of info out there on it on the various automotive forums.
I don't know what you are seeing but here the Stockton site has a huge black banner that says they shut down in March.
Custom Wheels - Stockton Wheel Service
Stockton Wheel no longer exists.
As for the rims, my thoughts mirror those of M1075 except for the rock crawling bit. There are already a lot of rims manufactured for rock crawling and you would be hard pressed to sell a normal aluminum rim without beadlocks to rock crawlers for $600 a piece...
I got tired of the flat spotting thing with my Boggers so I went with the 37" Radials. That and all the 36s I found were pretty old and not worth the asking price.
Hmm, I wonder how big of a deal it would be to get a roll of rubber matting similar to a truck bed mat and cut it up for some custom floor mats? That way you wouldn't have to worry about tearing the paint up on the floors and can pull them out for shows. Just a thought.
True but over here at least, the 4WD components are readily available to swap in a complete 4WD Cummins drivetrain from a '89-'93 Dodge truck and later Dodge models can donate the engine and transmission though require an older transfer case.
As far as the hub swap goes, many people have used...
